"People laughing - that's holy." So true, Tommy. Gone now, one of the great comedy minds and compassionate activists of our time. Tom brilliantly played the clueless one, and Dicky was a perfect straight man. Pointed political satire combined with silly comedy and great folk music - it all fit together so well in Tom and Dick Smothers. They were so infectious and so effective, in fact, that they were fired. Again, that word "beloved" is often overused, but not when it comes to the Smothers Brothers. Unless you were a network exec or a hard-core winger, it was impossible not to love them. I'm so sorry we'll miss your planned tour, Tommy, but you've earned your rest. Thanks for all the laughs, and for making us think and feel. {{{ 💜 }}}
