After almost 70 years of movie watching, I heartily agree. McQueen is terrific, with an excellent supporting cast and great location filming. The segment with Brian Keith is a particular highlight among many in this outstanding Western.

Brian Keith acted as a great mentor with wisdoms to the hero in the movie, it took me a painful moment to cut that segment since I shouldn't make it too long, also because the ways that he killed those three murders didn't use those skills, he totally followed his tough nature, @@leestamm3187 🕹

Steve McQueen’s westerns rank among my favorite, Magnificent Seven, Nevada Smith, Junior Bonner & Tom Horne! The location at the end with Karl Malden in the River was a favorite location for director Henry Hathaway. He used it in Hell to Texas, Nevada Smith, & True Grit!

McQueen was such a pencil-neck, it's hard to believe he'd be an action hero today. He's 35 years old in this flick, but plays an inexperienced kid.

Yeah, physically, he doesn't quite pull off the appearance. He does, however, have much more of a real man's body that completes physical work (eg. his forearms are pretty ripped when he's carrying Curly Bill Bowdry back to his rack, as opposed to, say, that kid Hemsworth smiling with his shirt off at Myley-Boy Cyrus). However, the way Max Sand changes throughout the entire film is to be praised thru Steve McQueen's acting. Very believable. 😘✌️❤

This re-edit is not trying to cover the whole story of the 2:10:51 movie, but to extract the core drama of an epic revenge with 12 minutes. It indeed missed some great scenes like Brian Keith mentoring him, which took me a while decide to remove that scenes, the reason is that those trained skills were cool looking, but not closely related to his revenge drama, altermately it was Nevada Smith's own nature and guts survived this revenge battle. 🍿🎉
