A little story: Back in the 70´s I was a Passenger Service Supervisor for Pan Am at the Merida Airport and was standing at the Inmigration entrance to assist customers when a mature man with large sunglasses asked me if there were motorcycles for rent in the city and I said no, he didn´t say his name but when he took his sunglasses off I inmediately recognized him and being myself a motorcyclist I told him I had a friend who owned a BSA 650 Super Rocket offering to call him, well my friend after knowing who he was told me to give him his address and to pick up the bike anytime at no cost, three days later he left Merida with a big smile dressed as a "mestizo" this is the typical clothes from Yucatan, but wearing the large sunglasses as he didn´t want to be recognized.

@@freedomweekend 100 % real, in fact one of my assignments was to take care of VIP´s, this included artists, astronauts, millionaires, etc, I was usually notified in advance, so I had time to arrange with authorities to make it all easy for them but in this particular case there was no notification perhaps at Mr. McQueen´s request.

When I was 12 years old, I saw The Great Escape. From that movement I am in a love of bikes & riding. I had old 4 speed Bullet 350, RD350 & Jawa 42 galactic Green. Also going to buy interceptor 650 soon. I wish, I liked to own that Triumph TR6 Trophy which was use in The Great Escape Movie. In the memory of king of cool Steve McQueen

Brings back memories of the Bonneville I had after returning from Japan in the late 60s. I used to joke -- one hour of maintenance for every hour on the road. Great bike and a part of ownership in those days was maintaining it.

Saw the Great Escape in 1963 and instantly knew what I was born to do. It was a long wait until 1968 when I got my first Motorcycle. 53 years later the love affair is still going strong, never not owned at least one Motorcycles in all those years. Even though that Indian is worth more I would pick the Rickman Metisse Triumph because I've never owned a British Motorcycle and because it says Steve McQueen.

I have a Triumph Trophy Sports 650 in my stable. I rode her every chance I had a few years ago. But cell phone a-holes tried to kill me a few times. I got sick of them texting. So now I can just sit on her and dream of my wonderful rides in the past. I had a Bonneville 650 in high school too . Loved that bike . Hz dc to sell her when the US Army got hold of me in 1967 FOR THAT DAMN MESS IN VIET NAM . .I blame viet nam for my loss of my Triumph Bonneville ! Maybe its a missplased blame but hey , it works for me !
