Trascendentale, ogni volta che ascolto questo brano il mio spirito si separa dal mio corpo per volare verso l'infinito

This is certainly one of the great works of the 20th Century. I have always liked this recording over the others out there, not just because it is the Reich Ensemble, but for the fact that they just seem to nail regarding the tempo and balance between voices and instruments.

Bought this the day it was released, must have played it over a thousand times and never was that once too many.. Fantastic, only topped by the track that comes after, 6 Pianos.

The image is the original vinyl cover. I bought that in beginning of the 80's on vinyl. Thanks for posting the original recording from this amazing piece of music.

With respect to all the other recordings available of Drumming, this one by Deutsche Grammophon takes the cake

I don't think anybody should be angry where Steve Reich is involved. His work defends itself very well.

Your opinions have lasting significance that overrides my enjoyment of the music. I now hate this song too, though I loved it before. Thank you for liberating me with your obviously superior musical taste.

This isn't in the least hypnotic .None of Reichs music is. Personally I just focus on it and reassures me.

Just wondering, do you guys treat this as ambient music (i.e. you throw it on and go do something else while it plays in the background) or do you sit listening intently?
@bobasoif
@bobasoif 7 жыл бұрын
it is always more interesting to just sit and listen to it but hearing this kind of music while doing something else is also very very enjoyable. i personnaly do both

This kind of questions is what this genre is searching. Minimalism has this pleasant experience where u can hear all of the sound cells changing and playing between, or just simply swim in his sound texture and get lost on it like a little limbo on your life.

I listened to this recording, very interesting how different it sounds. Faster and with a Thom Yorke Touch I would say. I am new to Steve Reich and both recordings are just mind blowing to me.
