​@@sliverhalo9286 I try not to be the grammar police but this just some straight up r/confidentlyincorrect stuff because 1) the correct way to say it if you're using the "British" way (a.k.a. the Past Perfect Tense) is "hadn't gone" and 2) if you were to say it the American way, it would just be "didn't go" without the "had", as the usage of "had" requires a past participle and Americans don't really use Perfect Tenses much. That being said, it is somewhat common in some parts of the South in the U.S. and AAVE so I wouldn't really go out of my way to correct stuff like this usually (edited for accuracy as it slipped my mind while typing that the verb is negative in the original so "went" becomes "didn't go" as per the rules for Past Simple)
