Steve Smith is the authority on Wide Receivers and ESPN is blowing it not having his analysis on the big screen.

Unless they can't get him because he does work with NFL Network you're completely right on this. That said, NFL Network is missing the target not featuring Smitty harder during draft time, because unless there are actual teams paying Smitty to consult so he can't share info, there is NO REASON why Steve shouldn't be doing pre draft coverage on the network. Dude is insightful, entertaining AND accurate. Not sure there's another draft analyst that fits that profile.

They'd try to sanitize his takes and take what makes him special away like that channel did with Bruce Arians. I Love this format right here for Steve although the host seems a little out of his depth. I haven't seen him w/o Smith yet though, so maybe he is just a bit star struck. Get that confidence & he'll be fine. He does well letting Smith do most of the talking though and that's hard for some guys from shows like these, so credit for.that. He's gotten more comfortable as it goes along too

@samismith8752
@samismith8752 3 ай бұрын
Odunze catches everything thrown near him. The other top prospects all struggled at times and saw huge production drops with tight NFL-level coverage, even Marvin. Rome's contested catch otoh % is insane and will make him a productive WR in the NFL immediately. He's not gonna win the jump balls or run insanely perfect routes like MHJ or get the YAC like Nabers, but his skillset is so easily transferable to pro ball. I think he'd be an amazing fit in Chicago where Caleb will need a second talented WR along with DJ Moore.
@alod247
@alod247 3 ай бұрын
@@samismith8752Odunze is a beast. I’m a UWfan and alumni that watched most of his games. But I wasn’t comparing him to the other WR in the class. I compared his hype compared to Polk’s. Odunze is a stud but Polk is the real deal too and should’ve got more love because of the plays he made.
@samismith8752
@samismith8752 3 ай бұрын
@@alod247I think Polk can become a rich man's Jonny Knox/Gabe Davis big play guy, but I don't think he can realistically be a game to game consistent #1 like the guys ranked above him. He's also going to be an awful blocker at the NFL level which will limit his snap count. As a Bears fan I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him in the second round if we can acquire a pick there just because the value of big chunk plays is so significant and he should provide a lot of value in that regard.

Corley played very well against osu from what I remember. He just seemed troublesome to contain. I look at everything from dynasty draft view so I'll be taking a flyer on him for sure if I can.

When Steve Smith talks WR’s coming into the league, I listen… dude 100% should be in a FO position for his WR evaluations

When it comes to WR Analysis, Steve Smith is the absolute best! Wish I knew of an analyst on this level for RB’s & QB’s.☹️

Brett Kollman is pretty damn good overall, but I wouldn't say he's specifically great at RB & QB. For OL check out Voch Lombardi although he is good overall too. If you find one for RB & QB hmu!

For instance, Kollman missed out on Mahomes, but so did a lot of people.

I like that Malachi Corley out of Western Kentucky as well. Boy go 5’11” at 215 pounds. Dude is a physical freak! With speed and good hands.

Deebo Samuel is exactly who I thought about when I first saw Malachi Corley.. He runs with a lot of force and when the NFL strength and conditioning coaches get their hands on him he is going to become even more of a beast..

I like your analysis and it’s crazy how much we agree. Off topic but what are your thoughts on Rashee Rice? Thank you Steve for your response.

I love rice , he's learning how to play with a top shelf QB for the QST time in his football life.takes some adjustment. Next year he should be better much earlier

Please tell me he will be back after tge draft to tell if the receivers went to good scheme fits.......also not sure what he means when he said Kirk and Zay play the same position. Isnt Kirk a slot receiver and Zay Jones an outside receiver? Maybe he meant Zay Jones and Ridley? The host should have followed up on that a little more.
