I was introduced to the Carolina Panthers in 2001 and saw Steve Smith Sr catch a football for the first time and never looked back. I have the utmost respect for him as a player, father and husband. His intensity on the field has been unmatched since he retired. I was there for the ring of honor induction and cried like a child when I saw him in that Carolina 89 jersey. I am beyond blessed to have seen him in his prime and equally blessed to see him come home to Charlotte. Congratulations Steve on all your accomplishments.

As a kid growing up in Charlotte NC and becoming aware of sports in the 2000s The Delhomme-Smith connection was one of the greatest things to witness. They were heroes for a place that was somewhere in between a big town and a small city that didn't have many nationally recognized faces; I will always fondly think back on that mid 2000s panthers squad as the greatest to suit up (no disrespect to Cam and his incredible years)

As a Patriots fan I can honestly say that Steve Smith is one of my favorite players ever to watch play. And is in my top 10 all-time favorite Wide Receivers list. Which is why I create him for my Patriots in madden. and when he got released by the panthers, I was really hoping he would have come to the Patriots and catch passes from Tom Brady, but he signed with Baltimore instead, which was disappointing, but he did what was best for him and his family as he noted in his A Football Life episode. Nevertheless, one of my favorites. and a future Hall of Famer.

Hope he doesn't have to wait forever to reach the HOF. He was a deadly kick/punt returner as well

@@rottenapplelifestyle1683 You're completely clueless. He's one of the greatest receivers to ever play. One of the VERY few to ever have a receiving triple crown in a season. 7th all time in yards for a wr, 10th all time in catches for a wr, 8 one-thousand-yard seasons, 5 pro bowls, 3rd all time in all-purpose yards (excluding RBs and career kick returners like Brian Mitchell). Should I go on? Now sit down.

God loved watching this man play growing up. Being 29 now really miss watching the glory days of the Panthers.

Same here turned 29 in June. Remember the Super Bowl in 03 vividly. Broke my heart. But if you watch the patriots documentaries they said that game was by far the most physical and toughest Super Bowl they won.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan (I'm 56 as I type) and I have the utmost respect for Steve Smith...a grind it out, tough, physical player who gave 100 percent every second he was on the field. He was a beast!!

To anyone who think Cooper Kupp's triple crown year last year was amazing while he was surrounded with alot of other great talents at WR with a great QB in a pass happy offense, imagine winning it with no other decent WRs with an average QB on a run first team. Steve Smith did that. One of the best to ever do it.

Love this man. In a miserable Era for Ravens fans, he was a bright spot. I know hes a panther for life but he was always meant to be a Raven. It was like he came to where he always belonged. That attitude was perfect for us.

Steve Smith was awesome it was fun and actually kind of hilarious watching him play. I remember watching him with my brother and opposing player got in his face. I looked at my brother and said "Bro you don't get in Steve Smith's face". Also hilarious watching how he'd throw DB's around.
