Chanan you are one of the most humble and expert interviewers I've ever watched. You know how to ask the right questions, and more importantly, how to not interrupt and let the magic flow. When Vai says he doesn't do any Zappa interviews anymore except for you, this says it all. Can't wait for the book, "My Time with Zappa" by Steve Vai with Chanan Hanspal. complete with transcriptions and everything!

Oh yeah! Another Zappa talk. I can't wait to hear it. Huge thanks to both of you for this talk! (By the way, I am learning to play Black Page #1. Or should I say I am attempting to learn it 😅)

Steve is always terrific and you get the best from him. An interview just about the BEAT tour and learning and arranging would be great stuff as well.

I could do with a contact to Steve, as I would like to interview him and not mention Frank at all. As much as I love Frank's music, and I am seriously familiar with his catalogue whilst he was alive. I just think Steve would have a lot to say about his own life, and I'd just love to hear things he'd have to talk about what hasn't been asked about him before.

I'd love to hear Steve talk more about the Skyscraper era. Everyone wants to know about Zappa, including me. Similarly Eat 'em comes up a lot. But did we ever really understand why Billy didn't do the Skyscraper tour? How did the album come to be produced by Steve and Roth without Templeman? It's an amazing album, but doesn't seem to get the love it deserves. Just a thought.

I have an 1982 pressing of FZGB. A prized possession. Unfortunately with all my scribbles on it from my youth.
