I also own both of these (mine is the White UV71P but it's functionally the same guitar...). Tonally there isn't much difference between my guitars and the build quality of the Premium is pretty much as good as that of the Prestige. However, the Prestige beats the Premium for natural resonance and sustain - it just feels more 'alive' and responsive
