the video has (if compared with the average KZbin video) low volume audio, thus it should be louder , there are many programs who can fix it. you simply cut few bass frequencies a little bit, add gain around the 1kHz region, and general gain. You mildly compress to avoid digital distortion. What is that SW something which doesn't understand fundamental sound engineering? Steven Weinberg MUST be audible at ANY African tablet! We love him!

I had heard his lecture on UTA also. A great mind. He shared his dissatisfaction on failure to build the super collider in UTA also. And the day Higgs Boson discovery was announced, the ghostly tunnels of the collider were printed on the newspaper. That day, I felt a kind of loss and for a moment, I had the feeling that It could have been US and Texas. But again knowledge is knowledge and it should have no boundaries and or any nationality.

read about isospin, and compare to spin, e.g., in math terms, the neutron and proton are the same particle, they just point in different directions in "isospin" space, which isn't a physical space...but the math is identical to a spin-1/2 particle in real space.

Someone is jealous of the name of the higgs. He's right though, Higgs isn't 1/2 the physicist Weinberg was (but who is?)...But there is a Weinberg angle. Unification of Weak interaction with electromagnetism was deemed to have been accomplished in about 1970 by A. Salem, S.Weinberg and S. Glashow. In the 1980's it was projected that at Planck energy of 10^19 joules, the Strong, Weak and electromagnetic forces will merge in magnitude. As for gravity: Mass(in kilograms)= Charge squared(in Coulombs squared)x10^minus 7 divided by distance between two charges in meters. Thus all 4 interactions are in fact identical.

Saying that the ISS has produced nothing of scientific interest is a profoundly ignorant statement for someone so well educated. It's also confusing that he would criticize spending on space, when the budget of (at least in the US) the space program is less than half a percent of the discretionary budget. It would make far more sense to criticize a truly wasteful expenditure, like the bloated budget of the U.S. defense department. Instead, he tries to tear down other people who struggle for funding as hard as he does. It's very disappointing to hear something like that from someone so clearly brilliant.

In my opinion, the fact that we cannot get the necessary data to study unification (because the energy levels are beyond what we can generate at this time) it is never ever an excuse to avoid falsifiability, as String Theory in doing. Science without falsifiability is worst than religion and I rather prefer to believe in Greek mythology than in not falsifiable science.
