Unlike many aging rock singers, this is still in its original key, and Winwood is singing the true melody, not fudging on the high notes! Respect!

Tremendously underrated song.

A great song, a huge hit in it's day, a legendary musician/singer. It makes no sense that this song is becoming nearly lost to present day audiences.

a unique voice... no? I bought one of his albums and was amazed that everyone one was brilliant. There are not many artists that have this as one of their achievements.

What an amazing rendition of a great song! Adding Clapton's guitar to the mix takes it beyond perfection. Both Winwood & Clapton hadn't lost a thing at the time of this performance. Talk about timeless legends! This song has a very special meaning to me personally as it was released at a very important time in my life. One of my all time favorites.

Such a beautiful message in a song. Some of us foolish enough to ignore the message and just enjoy the music. I'm guilty

I always loved this tune- the chord sequence from the end of the chorus back into the verse is unusually complex for a pop song.

wow, what a pro! Winwood backing off the mic so he doesn't overdrive the signal, and not because it can't hit the note

This guy could have been in the Beatles. Billy Preston was blessed and gifted, Steve Winwood was right there with Billy

Yes that would have been great. The Beatles really needed a keyboard player and what finer one could there have been than Steve Winwood. Problem is I don't know if Lennon and McCartney's egos could have endured the addition of someone on his level.

@ClassicTVMan1981X6 ай бұрын
Yes, but I think they could've brought in Ginger Baker instead. Then it'd be 3/4 of Blind Faith, with only bassist Ric Grech missing (he overdosed in 1990).
