And, he is self-taught. A remarkable talent. There are only a handful of musicians that can turn me inside out on certain arrangements they play of familiar songs. This is, of course, one. It has been said to play at this level a musician must have the "fire in the belly." The following have surpassed that level...to a raging inferno, in my opinion: Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Prince, Mike Campbell, Carlos Santana, Derek Trucks (although considerably younger, immensely talented), Joe Walsh, Tim Carmen (keyboardist for Clapton), Denmont Tench. There are no doubt more, but these all immediately come to mind.

Absolutely loving these comments about the Maestro that is the Great Eric Clapton! When Eric does not look at what he is playing plus looses himself in a zone that is completely his own.. is what I love so much about him.. he feels his way through his playing .. it’s extraordinary as I have not seen this from anyone but Eric! Every time Eric plays is a Miracle of Mastery for myself .. I admit that I cry the moment he walks on stage .. due to his stage presence plus control constantly! I cannot even remember how many times I have seen him play all over the world .. however there is no possibility of being disappointed ever ! That beauty of a guitar is my favourite colour too! His hair is beautiful long! Eric you have it plus so much more! I often wonder if you realise how phenomenal you are? There is no genre that you cannot play! Gd Bless you 4 Eva 🙏❤️🙏

I can't imagine why anybody who is not a Clapton fan would be here and if you're a Clapton fan how can you not appreciate this. Eric solo's never fail to stir the soul when when he is playing with passion. Yeah. Admittedly sometimes he phones it in. However .After about the 5 minute mark on this clip when he lets loose and does his thing. Well... If you have no soul like those 457 people then never mind. .....but if you do.....if you do this man can truly make the hair's stand up on the back of your neck. @unhingedsoulcollector85012 жыл бұрын
@@paulcarielli8071 yeah. That's a good guess. I consider performance over sound quality as long as I can hear well enough what's what. Sound quality has improved so much in the last decade for unauthorized performance clips. People get spoiled. I grew up listening tp zeppelin Hendrix , Stones and The Who vinyl bootlegs so this is good quality as far as I'm concerned. Anytime Clapton is inspired these days is few and far between. Still love his playing even though I'm a bit disappointed in some of his actions as of late but that is a separate matter. Yes there are ame great tutorials on this and it has been one of my favorite things of his. I consider The Journeyman to his last great full electric album of original compositions. A few good songs after here and there but that one was a home run.

oh yes, absolutely Fantastic!!!! this solo is amazing, but also this keyboard part, and the way they bring it (surprising in the first seconds) and melt in the end.. about HIS playing, what's amazing is the way (but also true for almost all blues guitarist) he never goes too far when he starts a line, and always keep hearing himself and stops before he could drift and become boring and heavy.. that's really AMAZING.. yes they were right when they wrote "Clapton is god" on the walls.. but God has got two hands, one is Clapton and the other Knopfler..
