Couldn't agree with you more, been a BRUMMIE, myself he's a humble man, and never looks for recognition, respected by all true musicians and possibly the most talented out of the bunch, JACK BRUCE, CLAPTON, GINGER BAKER, JEFF BECK, as the man was a fantastic piano player. ONLY MY OWN OPINION, 👍👍👍

you're right man...have you seen him in front of the fireplace doing can't find my way home acoustic? there you can also just see the pure talent. I did however notice he tuned his guitar a full step down for that 'cause maybe his voice is a tiny bit lower 'cause of aging vocal chords or something...

@@TheEdge92 You do know Winwood and Chris Wood composed the music with Capaldi wrting the lyrics. Which was the case for much of Traffic's sucess. Since Wood died in '83 of liver failure I'm guessing it's his, (Winwoods), song at this point.

Winwood played this summer tour 2024, played @DeerCreek opening for Doobie Brothers. Both played great! What a blessing to have been raised among this music & these musicians. Not only did Winwood play a fantastic set of great hits, he looks so healthy & young for his age. No other period had the depth of music we enjoyed in the 60s & 70s. Truly blessed to have been there

Cycling one day last year around where I live here in the UK, I came across these two guys leaning on a gate looking at some land chatting away. Getting closer I recognised one of them to be the one and only Stevie Winwood. Knowing he lived in this area, I guessed this must be part of his land and he was probably discussing farm business. As I passed I nodded and said, "Morning Mr Winwood, lovely land almost a fantasy" and gave a wink! He looked up but said nothing, just nodded and grinned........Made my day.

That solo is something else. Not self indulgent, not too long, executed perfectly and in cohesion with the other musicians. The ending and shift into the chorus is also just so crisp and satisfying.

You have no idea whether or not some of those musicians on that stage got their start because of a diversity program for minority youth. There's not a thing wrong with manufacturing fairness and equality and equity in a society that is not meant to be a jungle, but instead a decent place to live and work, for all.

Saw him with Traffic at Winterland in SF. I will never forget that concert, and I saw many there. It started in the dark, with random notes being played by the band. Then, somehow the notes gradually morphed into the beginning of Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Stevie had a way of playing that was so melodic. His notes were few, but put together so beautifully. You didn’t want the song to stop! We do not see talent like that today.

Michael Guidera - I've followed Steve W. my entire adult life from age 24 to now ( just turned 77 ). All of his work is superlative, and on top of that he seems like a very nice guy. Put him and Clapton on a stage together and it's like ice cream and cake - both are delicious, but it's hard to say which is better.
