I used to listen to Radio 1 all day back in the early 80s when I left school and started my first job. It really was an incredible time for Radio 1 with Steves show being one of the highlights of the day.

I used to work in a Sewing Factory and we lived for this show in the afternoon..it made a long day pass with loads of laughter..Mr Angry stole the show 4 me 🤣🤣 I miss those days! ❤️

Sid The Manager was a classic sketch ,used to conduct impressions of him with my mother's boyfriend at the time . Funny looking back,I seem to encounter similar types in local football as well !!

RIP Radio 1, 1967 to 1989, the days when it was fab. Then switched over to LW Atlantic 252 that year and during the 1990s. Nothing to listen to now.

@thadtuiol1717 I think I did with everything back then loved my youth , pubs, clubs, travel it was a magical time (I still do it now to a degree well the travel) the problem is you just don't realise that the people / places / times aren't there forever and one day it will disappear. Those were definitely better days though

He was simply brilliant. I was gutted when R2 axed his afternoon show. Especially miss Serious Jockin DJ Silly Boy and the introduction to it by Tim Smith. I absolutely loved Friday afternoons. I used to message friends at 3.30pm on a Friday with the words : “It’s serious!” I’d leave them to panic for 30 mins and then I’d say, “Yes, It’s Serious Jockin” 😂🤣😂

I remember when Bruno was being interviewed about a Tyson fight, ( one of Steve 's skits )Steve asked Bruno who was going to win, and replied Tyson, because he's good in the air, i still use that line nowadays whe someone asks about a boxing match, what great memories, Still can't believe part of my salad day are gone... A legendary DJ Steve Wright unique and much loved around the world 🌎 listened to him when I was a kid he's been with all of us for years could be a member of your family. From the days before BBC Radio went round the twist. Steve used to keep us going on Op Banner, stuck in hell holes for days on end. Whatever Steve's doing now, let's wish him all the best. He must be ecstatic to get out of the place.
