3.2 is nowhere near overpayment for what he provides. he is the leader on a very good shutdown line. he is a very valuable pk guy. even if he gets consistently 30ish points its still a very ok contract.

It feels weird that Ras is still 24 years old. He still has a year or 2 of physical growth, so he can get significantly bigger and stronger and be an actual force on the ice. I think this is a smart signing by Stevie.

Rasmussen is ah guy your not paying for point totals per say, sure he can net ya some points but your paying him cause he's a swiss army knife, you manily want him bottom 6 but in some situations you can slot him top line if you need a net crasher or someone to bully other players, hes like Kostin and Fish combined and im all for it

you hit the nail on the head pointing out the bargain he has been since they brought him up. He isn't Gretzky, but he's as big as Lemieux. IMO he is worth the cashola. I'm not exactly sure what will put the wings up there with the big boys, but I like what the lions are doing. If Stevie can motivate his club like Dan Campbell is able to, we're in business.

I like it, I was thinking he was going to sign for 3 years/3 mil cap hit. About where I had at, a tad bit more, but an additional year. Glad to get it done, got three RFA's left (four if Berggren is included), not to mention what UFA's we are going to sign. The big one being Kane, what is it going to cost to keep him?

I imagine if the wings do anything in the playoffs ( I'm talking even a 6 or 7 game first round exit) he will want to stay with the boys and take a team friendly deal. He's the only twilight guy on the roster and has already won it all. His want to play here seems to be massive we will see July 1
@redbeard6403
@redbeard6403 3 ай бұрын
@@michaelthompson1197 I think we'll know before then. With our RFA's coming up we'll only have so much money to spend, we won't be able to get in a bidding war over him. After the new salary cap ceiling is announced and before free agency starts we'll know if he'll be here or not. I imagine Stevie saying this how much we can give you, we'll give you a full NMC. If he tests the market, I doubt he'll come back to Detroit.

ill take big Ras over both Jarnkrok and Appleton any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Ras drives a line, creates space uses his body. Advanced analytics rarely tell the whole story in hockey. Never takes into account a players roll, who they match up against or what a players assignment is.

My to sign list with term, and what I would like to pay them, Kane 2 years 4.5-5 mil, sprong 2 years 2.5 mil, veleno 2 years 2 mil, Raymond 8 years 7.5 mil, seider 8 years 8.5 mil, let perron, ghost, and Fischer walk and hope to have bergren, Simon, and mazur take those spots, don't extend fabri or kostin let Danielson and Kasper grow into those roster spots, potential buyouts for hull, copp and petry
@europason2293
@europason2293 3 ай бұрын
Copp isn't getting bought out until maybe the last year of his contract if he drastically declines. Petry could definitely get bought out since he only has one year left at a fairly low cap hit, and I think Holl could easily get traded with retained salary.

I'm not sure I want to see many UFAs "walk". Even if we do make the playoffs this year, as we reach the trade deadline we should re-evaluate Berggren, Edvinson, and the other youngsters who "weren't given a chance to make the NHL" last fall because of all of the free agent acquisitions. If any of them are ready to help us in this year's playoffs, then it could make sense for us to trade a UFA player for a draft pick and open up a roster spot for the kid to join in this year's NHL playoffs.

Ruz, after 4+ yrs in Detroit, is a north- south player with little skill, and leads the team in falling down around the net. Maanuch smaller D men can knock him down. When he was drafted scouts said he was good on the wall and behind the net retreving pucks and as a net front presence, but the wings are not using that way. Hes a none fighter.

Yikes, thats a great deal. Ras should be our #3, instead for some reason SY paid 2 #3's(Copp and JT) double that amount. Lol I just don't understand what Stevie is doing with our bottom C's and bottom D's. It's like he's throwing sheet on the wall and seeing what sticks. As far as what's Raymond worth, nothing more than $6M per. He has some skill but has NO INTANGIBLES. He reminds me of a rich mans Tomas Tatar lol.

He knows exactly what hes doing. Prior to this season detroit was not a destination. Overpaying was a necessity. Anyone watching all the games sees why compher got what he got. NEVER makes a mistake. Always makes the right play and 2 way. Sometimes thats worth more than point totals. Chris draper and Maltby probably averaged 10 to 20 goals a year if that but were absolutely integral to those dynasty teams.

I personally think that both Lucas & Seider will sign a shorter contract than 6 years. That Lukas has no intangible assets is very strangely expressed. The guy is 21 years old and super professional in his performance and is one of the few productive players we have in the top 6. Feel free to follow him and see all the little things he does during 60/min of hockey. He is consistently one of the first into the O-Zon and the deepest, he is also the one in his line who backchecks the hardest, with the exception of Larking. Lukas plays in all situations, even in PK, where his extremely high hockey IQ helps him to be in the right place at the right time. His skating is a bit unique, doesn't look fast but Oboy stand at the rink and you experience the speed and his smart way of using and saving energy over the entire 200ft of ice. I guess Lukas will live in the gym during the summer again this year, together with his best friend Rasmus Dahlin. There are pictures of Lukas' legs when he visited Dahlin in his summer cottage in Sweden. As both boys have family and friends in the area near the sea. Lukas' legs are extremely large for a guy his age, this not only helps him to be stronger in his lower body but also to maintain his balance and speed.
