This is the first time that I have needed to take the extruder apart (actually ended up doing it twice today with the same roll of filament). Even though I know it is simple to do, I was a little nervous about taking the extruder apart, so I wanted to show my process and let others know that it is super easy to do.

this exact scenario happened to me last night, I spent the day learning how to remove the hot end and clear it. Thought that was it, went to run a test print and got the same error message, so I found this perfect video of yours and you walked me through it! FYI... it was some multicolored filament I had bought before Christmas '24 ... it was brittle and I found the broken piece in the gear area. Thank you.. I am subscribed

Very helpful video. Thanks for making it. Bambu has the process broken up into at least two videos. I like that yours is all in one and to the point.

Thank you! Yeah, I try to make my videos as short as possible and still have all the information a person needs. Sometimes that’s hard to do as some people require more information or detail than others.

My blocked extruder wouldn't allow the filament to eject. That put a lot of tension on the filament and wouldn't allow me to disconnect the PFTE . I had to cut the PFTE and filament just above the connection. The instructions said to print a box to assist in removing the sprocket. Kind of hard to do when you are repairing your only printer. Removed the sprocket , and was able to remove the stuck filament with tweezers.

I can not get the yellow gear out. I loosened the Long screw and removed the spring, but the yellow gear ist still tight. Am i missing something?
@Steve4948
@Steve4948 5 ай бұрын
Be sure to loosen the screw that holds the idler and then pull that little idler gear in arm assembly away from the yellow gear. The yellow gear should pull out at this point.

2:35 Mine looked exactly the same with SUNLU Red PLA. I think it was because I printed with PETG then PLA and it probably didn’t purge everything or brittle PLA.

Thank you for this. Unfortunately I took the whole thing apart and checked it thoroughly for a clog or loose filament. Found nothing, put it back together and still the same error 🤷‍♂. Funnily enough, it was the orange filament that started this issue for me as well.

Quick question, my issue is not with the extruder. In fact even bought a second one thinking it was. However, after swapping extruders it's still not printing in that no filament is coming out of the hot end? I didn't think a hot end could be clogged up as whatever filament being printed would just be melted and passed through? I did change the hot end nozzle with the replacement which came with the printer and managed to get 3 hours into the print before the second nozzle got jammed up. Is it possible there's an issue with the thermistor? Perhaps not heating up the hot end enough even though it reads as being 250? Any help would be appreciated.
@Steve4948
@Steve4948 7 ай бұрын
I don’t know a whole lot about hot and issues, but did have to replace the complete hot and on my P1S at one point. I had the hot and on hand and just swapped it out without really doing any troubleshooting beyond that, but it fixed the issue. I would think it would be possible for a thermistor issue to cause the problem if the hot end is not getting hot enough. Sorry, I couldn’t be more help.

Thanks for the video . What brand of filament ?
@Steve4948
@Steve4948 6 ай бұрын
I don’t recall the filament brand. Looking back at my order history, Polymaker would fit the timeline. However, I’ve used a lot of poly maker filament and haven’t had any issues with it. I’m not even 100% sure it was a filament issue but it happened two times in a row so I threw that roll out.

Thanks Steve, that was much quicker with your video instead of figuring out myself 🙂 I have about the same issue. A melted piece of filament that was stuck in the extruder. It never happend to me before and I was wondering if you managed to figure out what was the reason of it? It happend to me when I was using a 0.2mm head and often changing color.
@Steve4948
@Steve4948 7 ай бұрын
I am glad the video helped. I am assuming the problem was a bad roll of filament, although there is no way to prove it. It happened two times in a short time. I threw that roller filament away and have never had the problem again. I’ve only used the .2 mm a couple times and both times it worked fine.
@pieyrot

Thanks. I'm not quite sure the filament id faulty ... although the filament may behave differently on a 0.2mm head. I never had an issue with this filament on a 0.4mm head... Anyway! Some thing you better not ask in IT world 😉 "that's how it is"! I'll keep on trying anyway ! Thanks for your video!

Hello, I did exactly the same thing but when I put it back together and turned it on when it was moving it started making a noise like something was being grabbed, do you have any idea what it could be?

No, I’m not sure what inside the extruder would make noise. Sorry I can’t be of any help.

Hi I would like to ask and advise everyone if your print head is moving like me . If such a gap is normal. I have a P1P .I have it for a year and I have lubricated everything .It has about 7 kilos of material. Even with this problem I came up with it prints fine , but I'm not sure if it's okay or it's a problem . kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6SUkqdupNiMb9E kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3PUcq2goc1gpdk
