@@riley881 I think that's something you'll have to decide. Watch a few more videos with people comparing the two models, hearing their points as to why they switched, or didn't. I'm tempted as it's significantly more durable than the Fold 2. I'll probably keep mine, but will definitely be needing to fix my inner display. It's got quite a bit of marks, and what not.

I bought my Fold 2 moderately used with little scuffs on hinge and scratches on front display, inside perfect and missing Sim tray for $330 loved the phone. I just recently traded it in for $900 promo for the Fold 4 with spectrum and I love it even more now. I can't go back to regular slab phones lol

I actually still think that it is not a drastic change to convince someone to upgrade. I have jumped from Z fold 2 to Z Fold 3 initially, then I realized that I made an awful mistake because my fold 3 never let me watch movies 6-7 hours SOT straight every day while it was almost possible on Z fold 2. Later on, I sold my Fold 3 and got back to Z Fold 2 LTE version and now I am happy with battery life it is great. Z fold 4 has almost the same SOT according to reviews so it doesn't make sense to upgrade in that front. Z fold 2 and Fold 3 will receive the same functionality exclusive to Z fold 4 later on. Only camera might be something you might notice but tbh every phone takes a good photo under good light conditions nowadays. It just feels like they are saving small things for future releases. Like next time Samsung will probably add S pen slot into Fold. In two years, they will give a bigger battery. That's when it shall be a good time to upgrade. I am feeling that Samsung is too relaxed because of lack of competition in the foldables market. At the same time, I am highly impressed with Samsung's innovation level. After folds I can barely use slab type phones. The only one I carry around is the Pixel 6 Pro and only for taking photos and when I feel like Fold is too big for my pocket that specific day. Good job Samsung in any case.

As the owner of the Z Fold 2 I was tempted to upgrade but I actually really like the decent internal camera on the Fold 2 (especially when using it on a tablet stand). Waterproofing was very tempting but I'll wait until we get a true Note Fold to upgrade. Plus in the UK we don't get the same trade in offers so there was never £1k off.

Cracked my 3 and got a 4 as the replacement. It doesn't seem like a big upgrade....until you use it. The bigger outer screen, better battery life, more square edges.....I love it!

I honestly waited to buy the fold 2 until the fold 3 came out and even when the 4 came out it still wasn't a major enough change to me to upgrade. Coming into 2023 with the fold 2 has been great. I do have a case on my phone and drop it so many times and no breaks. I think the build quality stands the test of time. I will see how long I can get this phone to last.

I took the screen protectors off and haven't used a case for my fold 2, I bought it day of release, im not the most wreckless with my phone but have had a few drops and keep it in my jeans pocket, still functions like day 1 with no noticeable scratches to it. The build quality is amazing.

I have a fold 2 about 3 months after the release refurbished and unlocked through 3rd party store from amazon. A few things im glad i have in the older model that was changed in later models. One item is the higher megapixel camera for the full screen. I like video calling people and having them see me with better resolution than the newer camera (lower. Egapixel unfolded screen) which is more hidden in the fold 3 and 4, means lower rez. The other is a front screen being 60hz and inner screen being 120hz. This means if i'm low on power it drains slower if i use the front screen if i have to save on power compared to the 3 and 4 which will drain just as fast using the front screen as the unfolded screen both now at 120hz. Newer isnt always better.

The phones front screen works pretty good with the smaller keyboard. I tend to use it for more of my quick text or google search. I found myself using it more frequently and saving a lot more battery life. I went from a s10+ to the zf2 about a year ago and love it. The camera is the only real complaint I have for the phone. Love the phone waiting to see what's next in 2023 . Great video

I got a Fold 4 to replace my Fold 3, and while I was initially expecting to get it and deem it not enough of a change, the battery life (on power saving and light performance mode) is a huge step up from my Fold 3. That and the front display being a bit better as well as simply a new display rather than a year old one, I think it was somewhat justifiable. Not completely justifiable but y'know lol. My Fold 3 kinda creaks when I open it, and the screen protector peeled badly so I removed it, so I figure 500 (normally 800 but sold the buds I got for free and gonna sell the watch) to upgrade is better than a potential 300 dollar deductible for a screen repair.

yeah these foldable screen protectors bubble. I've had my fold 2 for almost 2 years about 4 months ago it started to bubble. I keep it on since in my area none of the Samsung repair places knew how to replace the inner screen protector. tomorrow my fold 4 shows up. I'll be peeling off the screen protectors before sending in my trade in (fold 2).....should look perfect so I can get my 1,000 trade in. 🤣.

I love my fold 2. Love the better camera for video calls in the full screen. Not liking lower resolution camera just to do away with the small tiny black hole. I found a video where a guy submerged his fold 2 in a bowl.of water open full screen and it still worked. I use the spigen slim armor pro to protect my hinge. I also heard the sound quality is more superb on the fold 2 over the 3 and 4 because they were made to be waterproof. Still get a full day of use on my phone. 60 hz front screen and 120 full screen might be the reason. I'm OK texting and web surfing on the front screen.

I am using Fold 2 now. I notice that since the release of Fold 4, my Google Maps is not working properly like before. Sometimes it completely freezes. Mine is 256 Gb & I have used only around 137 Gb so far. And I always update all my apps regularly. Anyone here using Fold 2 experience the similar problem ??

I upgraded from my Fold 3 to the 4. Now that I have the phone in hand, I am convinced that people are focusing a little hard on the phones lack of innovation. The phone has a less prominent crease, it's front display is bigger an honestly, just more comfortable to use, and the smaller bezels give it a more premium look. The battery life is VERY noticeably better than the Fold 3. I used the phone from 7am to 2am one day and it wasn't until 1:20am that it finally hit 15%. This was with moderate to heavy use. I really do think that if someone with a 3 chose to go ahead and buy the 4, it wouldn't be a waste. Oh and the more flagship level cameras put it above the 3.

Being using my fold 2 for 2 yrs now actually babying it as it is a costly device,i have peculiar issue like outer screen got lines appered after botched sw update and even the back cover got ripped up without any drops.My iphone 12 pro max which is also 2 yrs held substantially good which changed my mind that if any body wants to spend more they should lean towards iphone which gives better value in every aspect.

I also had similar issue with my Fold 2. Just replace the screen protector with new one & problem solved. It only costs like $30-40. My fold 2 looks & feels like new again 😁😁😁

I had a fold 2 and it used to last 2 days on one full charge and i just use main display at night for youtube etc surfing while cover display for whole day without any problem z fold 2 was amazing 100% solid and practical device, now i m getting fold 2 again

Fold 2 front screen use will make the battery last longer than the fold 3 or 4 for one reason. We have 60hz displays the newer versions have a 120hz refresh rate which will drain their battery faster. The full screen which I use for games and videos is 120. We fold 2 users have a 10 mp camera full screen mode compared to the newer models using 2mp camera for video calls from the 90s tech.

Only thing I needed for my fold 2 was the spigen slim armor pro which is tbe best case for the fold 2 over anything ot there. Added a pop-up kickstand myself to it and it's the best phone I ever had or probably will have.

@@Wolfknight16 there’s always concerns, and on a case by case basis it’s definitely going to happen. But I had my fold 2 since launch and it’s still usable with a few small cracks along the crease that you can’t see while using it. The 4 is certainly more durable

Yeah, these crazy trade in prices are US specific, nowhere else in the world gets anything close to them, so you can see why there's even less reason to shell out another $1200 as well as giving your fold 2 away to Samsung really makes no sense. For your $1200 bucks and the total loss of your previous fold's value by giving it back to samsung, you're getting a fatter device with the same factory-damaged crease on the internal display, 4mm wider on the outer display, and a hinge that still fails to fold flat. You would need to have regular blunt head trauma to be handing $17,000 per decade to Samsung for such a low iteration proposition, and still only end up with one phone, and not the 9 you've given back to samsung for trade in nonsense. Also, your failure to recognise the smartphone design cycle which go between rounded edges and flat edges every 4 years doesn't inspire confidence.

I get it...but a major redesign isn't going to happen yearly and when you have a larger user base now...if you do take a big swing and mess something up, you'll be hearing about it from all corners. I can see both sides but I do think having used the Fold 2 a lot, this is a much better experience, and, to me, at the end of the day, that's what counts.

Actually the fold 4 has a slightly wider front screen by a few mm. I like that the hinge is smaller than our fold 2. But the reason why I'm sticking with my fold too is because the front screen is 60. Hertz refresh rate and the fold four is a hundred and twenty which means the screen will cause you to lower battery life faster and if you cant charge it youre stuck with a brick. I like that the unfolded full screen has a 10 megapixel camera. Which means when I video chat people will see me clearer. I don't care that a tiny pinhole camera is now a screen. Newer usnt always better.

I believe you're just saying that because you have the Z4 right now. Also reading through your comments many of your viewers seems to love the Fold 2 more anyway. I think you would have had a different opinion if you stuck with your Fold2 a bit longer after the update. Obviously I don't blame you for loving your Z4, but I don't think recommending people to upgrade for such minimal reasons is a good idea. I think too many people just look at the outside of the device and think it's similar to the Fold 3...but using it tells a completely different story. The Fold 4 feels like a complete product. The Fold 2 was great but just a big phone.
