wow - what a trick to work on sky only , I often made the mistake of changing the sky then it is affected globally . This RGB trick save you one step of editing the shadow in the dark . See you next tutorial sir .

It doesn't work with me, when I Ctrl click on the RGB Channel and then go back to Layers and choose Curves still the whole image changes lighter or darker, wherever you move the cursor. The same with Brightness/Contrast, again the whole image is affected.

Couple of questions: Do the marching ants load when you Ctrl-click on RGB? What does the layer mask look like after you add the Curves adjustment with the marching ants active? Cheers

might be a silly question at this stage - but are you on mac or PC? If mac, it's the Cmd (Command) button... If that's not it, I honestly have no idea - I've never heard of it not working before. If you can record a loom video and send it to me at [e-mail] then I'll see if I can figure out what might be going wrong.

Why don't you adjust the sky in RAW? 🤔 It's just one click to select the sky and then you have full control of it (unlike once you've exported it into PS). You also have access to feathered brushes to do what ever you want - again with the full control you have in RAW. (This is only the second video I've seen from you - and I think you're giving advanced and good advice - but I again wonder why you don't utilize the tools you have in RAW?)

Hey, thanks for your comments! I think once you start to see the power of (real) luminosity masking and advanced masking techniques in Photoshop you'll understand why I prefer to do most things in Photoshop rather than Lightroom. You mentioned in your other comment that taking images into Photoshop makes it so you're editing at JPEG level - that's not quite right. If your image/document settings are set to 16bit in Photoshop then that's effectively the same as RAW level quality. And if you want access to the specific tools of Lightroom / RAW, then you can access the RAW application via a filter on a layer in Photoshop. Hope this helps! cheers
