Another thing to everyone who sees your videos, I recognize you are not the typical salesman. Whether it was Tim Ghorley or others, everyone highly recommends you and your finished products. The service and ability to be reached after the sale must be second to none. The thought put into what you sell, from extra insulation for extreme temps, to arctic wrapped fuel lines and problem free Davco fuel filters speaks volumes. Long story short, you know your shit and must be good to deal with. That's not common in today's world. It seems once the taillights disappear, that's the end usually. Oh, and crankin' out bitchin' trucks doesn't hurt either. Kudos to you and your men who work for/with you.

I can appreciate and understand why people choose manual or automatic transmissions. Everyone has a reason for liking what they like. Doesn’t matter what transmission you have, if you have a sleeper or a day cab, ant eater front end or square, drive a kenny or a pete. We’re all out there with a love for the road and the satisfaction of backing into a tight spot. Drive safe, give a wave, blow the horn for the arm pump, and never stop hauling.

I’ve been in a 10 speed automatic now for just about three years, pulling tankers through the Sierras and the Cascades. My only gripe is when I get to a customer on rough ground, I have trouble with traction. I would buy one of these in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for my application being in agriculture and feeling like I would get stuck. I am very glad that these automatics are coming to main stream, they are remarkable when ran correctly and given a chance

If a automated manual is your thing that’s fine. However, if they’re going to do that they might as well put the gear selector on the turn signal arm like on the 579. Just do away with the pedestal in the floor all together.

If you played baseball, your batting average would be through the roof! You continue to knock them out of the park. As far as the automated 18 goes, some like them and have a reasoning for them (as you said), some don't. While not my cup of tea so to speak, I truly understand the need and desire. Regardless, it's still a beautiful flippin' truck! People need to realize that. Keep on keepin' on Steve. With all that said, I do have to say that I do really miss the intro from your older videos though. Great content!

Steve I worked 30 years for Iowa DOT on highway maintenance and in that 30 years I drove many trucks which where anything from a five and four , ten speed, thirteen, eight speed and four and six speed automatic and my last truck was a 10 speed auto shift which was by far the best transmission/truck I ever ran. It was programmed just right and worked beautiful for all task including plowing and ice blading snow! If I ever bought a truck for hauling short distance/local it would be the Ten auto shift and 18 speed auto shift over the road. Tell your customers to drive one before giving up on a Auto Shift !

I don't know how long this Coronavirus thing will last, but DOT just suspended the hour limits for truckers, Maybe the EPA should suspend the emission requirements on trucks so they're more reliable and the truck builders should put out some less expensive no frills rigs, so more people could get on the road and get the job done, cause chrome don't get ya home. Just saying.

Is there a difference in fuel mileage between the automated and manual
@hawki51204 жыл бұрын
It's kind of hard to say because how you drive the manual makes a very big difference. The automated will shift consistently for fuel millage. If your careful shifting the manual there pretty close if you feel the need to rap it out to 2100 RPM before you shift and floor it coming up to a long climb the automated will eat your lunch.

I’m starting class for my CDL on April 6th, and I’m sure I am no where near financially able to buy something this nice yet, but I’d have to say this is the nicest truck I’ve seen. I’d do a different color and all black interior personally, but that’s just my opinion. How much would something like this cost? I’m just assuming roughly 150-200k, am I at least in the price range?
@knbcustomfarmingsolutionsl60554 жыл бұрын
I paid 185,000 for my current 389 heavy spec. As far as buying a truck goes, get some experience under your belt first, last thing you want is to pay $25000 down and $2600 a month to find out you don't like doing the deal. First truck I bought was a 2005 378 for 30k and I put 550,000 miles on that puppy just fine. Just my two cents you've gotta do what you gotta do!
