Whenever you feel iffy about your team going "off board" on a draft pick just remember that there has never, in the history of any sports league, been a Draft that would be redrafted in the exact same order 5 years down the road.

Key note about Halinka: Ocelari Triniec not only won their 5th consecutive Czech Senior title(doing a reverse sweep in the semis against Sparta Prague thanks to a 4OT(!) Game 7 winner), but also won the U20 league where Miro played the bulk of his games. So even at AHL level he'll bring that championship predigree.

Because Tanev is an older- 34 going on 35- near the end of his career player who gets injured more often than not. They need better, younger defense. I hope the Leafs don't/can't sign him.

Let's be honest- if the leafs don't go for it the next 2-3 years it's rebuild time. If you can save some cap space those 2-3 seasons by signing Tanev long term- I think that's a good deal. If they don't win a cup in 2-3 years the leafs will be n full rebuild anyway

@@hockeyfan7100 "Better" is the wrong word. Tanev is currently an ELITE defender. The injury/longevity concerns are legitimate, but he is an elite defender. Can't get much better for what he costs.

Because if Taniv wants to be a leaf, he signs here. Now Tree has to sign him at whatever cost to save face for trading for his rights. A stupid needless move. The Leafs management continues its pathetic blunders. There is still a chance he goes for money and a team like Utah outbid the Leafs. You want one or two good D man, you trade Marner for them.

I says Put in Cowan and take out Minton. After seeing what I saw for his analysis was out of this world. Sportscasters and such were praising him Again. I’m exactly where I should be. Okay Tanev at trade deadline was sent to Dallas . Tanev said if I am correct? Said if I am going to be traded, I want to go to a US team. Which he was accommodated. So why would Treliving who couldn't convince Tanev to come to Toronto last year why or what does Treliving think he can convince him this time? Anything over 4 years at 4 million and no move or trade clause will ask the question, "Are you kidding?" What in the hell are you doing !!! Haven't learned a thing . Unless Lilijgren is not going to be qualified, Brodie not returning, Kempf traded Jarnkrok traded Gregor not returning. Where is the money coming from . Question: Do you trade Jarnkrok straight up for Connor Brown . Do you kick the tires on Kadri ? Last do you take a run on Skinner and let Domi Bertuzzi walk away for nothing Defensive prospects Kokohen if that is the correct spelling, Rafi Marshall, the two defenseman sided last year Cabber and one the WHL . Who else do they have on the Marlies 2024 pick a defensive defenseman right handed shot two years to gain some weight

Cause we all do know he ain’t gonna play out that contract. Not with the Leafs or any team. Tanev is also looking out for hisself too. Cause if he does have 2-3 yrs left. Then LTIR. He can sit at home and collect. We get Tanev services we’ve been wanting for ages. Tanev gets his future secured. Can’t really fault Tanev for already planning out his future and money at the end of it. Maybe we get him at 7 yr. 3 mill a year.

Great video as always. I'm really high on Topi Niemela, I think he's definitely going to hit at the NHL level. Ben Danford however, despite what scouts say, I'm quite dissapointed by. I thought that was a massive reach and I've seen plenty of Danford in the OHL, just not first round material.

One can only hope that Danford will surprise like Cowan did.

Nah, you got Shanafucked. Was pretty obvious Dubas was shackled by the Shanaplan by what he asked for before he left and what has transpired after he left. Maybe Dubas started down that road, but he was forced to stay on it after the fact. I guess I'll have to wait until Shanny is fired to hear y'all start bitchin about him though.

You say that as if it was a bad thing. I came to the leafs after being a flames fan, and I will admit, I never realized how good of a defensive lineup Calgary had until I looked at other teams.

6’1 and 143 pounds is crazy. The shortest guy who got drafted today Justin Poirier is 5’7 and has 42 pounds on the kid. He’ll bulk up of course but that is a tiny fella.
