If you tied a flathead and a blue of the same size, tail to tail....the flathead would drag the blue around until the blue was wore out, then it would turn around and try to eat it lol. They are the baddest dudes in the sweet water. Man I love then fish.

@@hensleyshobbies-doug7761 I was lucky enough to land a 47 pounder last Saturday night. That fish caused absolute pandemonium in my little boat. 30 minutes of drag screaming, me screaming, had to cut my back anchor line to get her untangled, she broke my net as I was lifting her in the boat, then shredded my hand as I released her lol!!!! I LOVE EM!
@hensleyshobbies-doug77613 жыл бұрын
@@ramrodrymensnyder2648 - hell yeah, nice 👍! Me too man, love them flatheads, or Shovelheads, depending on what part of the country you’re in. Don’t matter it’s all the same animal! My biggest was a 60 pounder, well we figured it at 60+, that was from a Butler county game warden. I had a 50 lb Berkley scales and it busted them when I went to weigh it. That came from the Great Miami River in Middletown Ohio, we were fishing from the bank. But we were lucky enough that a game warden came by right after I landed it , he measured the length and girth and all that and came up with the 60+ figure. And he knew a newspaper man, and called him to come down there where we were at, that guy took pictures and then I turned it back alive right there where I caught it. I hope that fish is still in there..?!? I don’t know, there was a lot of other guys around there who fishes up and down near that spot and whatever big flatheads they catch, they take and sell them to the local paylakes, which is Eff’d up to me!

Hi Steve, just curious do you only use cutbait when you fish for Flatheads? I like to use live bait when targeting Flatheads. I've heard that in the daytime some folks use cutbait and fish close to snags, that way the bait don't get hung up as much as live bait. Cheers!
