I have been wanting to do this song entirely on guitar since I first heard it back in 2014 I finally gave it an attempt to recreate it. All was going well up till the drum solo for some weird reason I just abandoned the song and haven't finished it since. When I was reading Guitar Player mags in high school in the early 90s I thought Vai's 7 string Ibanez was radical. Now here's Tosin playing like a 17 string 33 fret anti-gravity science-fiction instrument with fucking fanned out frets and I don't even have the vocabulary to describe it.

When I'd read that Rihanna sought out Nuno Bettencourt, without an entourage, gave him a wide range of freedom for a normally constrained 'pop' domain, and add to that what he has said about her refusal to lip-synch, understanding that music with its blemishes etc helps enrich the experience of it...gained a lot of respect for her.
