In 2014, M6 Gran Coupes stickered for $135k and are now available for around 40k. 95k depreciation in 6 years - 30% of original price. Steve, I'll bet you a steak dinner at anywhere other than Ruth's Chris that this M8 will easily hit 100k in depreciation in 5 years.

Yeah, I really like it. It does not sound a loud as the 1400W it is, but it’s very configurable. Would be interesting to know what the issue is. I will admit though that I prefer the Burmester in my P, but it’s for sure better than the Harmon in the M3.

Mathias Heimstad M6 has the same horsepower and a far more unique interior design, I’m not sure the 8 does it for me Though if you like the new BMW design language which enlarged the grills and flips them upside down and turns the ambient lights into a nightclub, I suppose you can drive one of those

The prettiest BMW since the 80s I'd say. Very good review. I think these are cars you have your salesman set up for you when you take delivery - you've spent enough money. So the menu complexity seems a little hard to avoid with all the features. I think the 800lb Gorilla in the room is Tesla though. It's just as fast, has the earth day image, can use the HOV lanes, and is cheaper - thou gh A LOT less special inside. I'd probably buy the model S instead.

Compared to a BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition a Tesla Model S is just a piece of shit when it comes to refinement in this class of luxury and performance! Sorry, but the M8 Competition is that good and it just "fucks" a Tesla all day long, no matter how often you will bring its stupid "Ludicris" bullshit on the table! Question: How often will such a Tesla Model S do its fucking dumb "Ludicris" shit before its battery will be starting overheating? As an electric car, the Tesla is quite loud inside the cabin, because it has absolutely no refinement at all, compared to such a German machine like the M8. The Tesla has nothing but engineering flaws all over the car including overheating batteries, whereas the BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition is a perfectly built four door GT, which is absolutely bulletproof in terms of hard accelerations again and again. And at travelling with these cars, a M8 with an empty fuel tank certainly doesn't need to stay for a full hour at a "Supercharger" each time... ;-). Some Americans seemingly still don't get it, when they still compare a fucking stupid 2.4 tons heavy electric and crappy built Tesla Model S with such an incredibly flawless engineered German high performance car like the BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition. The Tesla of course is a very fast electric car, but that's it. "Fast" for just one or two times at a drag race maybe... until it overheats. This car still has flaws over flaws and it just can't keep up with German quality like the M8! Everybody knows, that with just a little bit of quality chip tuning, the BMW M5/M8 V8 turbo engine will have more than 800 hp/PS and more than 1000 Nm of torque. It's just an absolutely efficient and bulletproof monster engine. 0-60 mph with this amount of power is around 2.6 seconds all day long! A Tesla is just a piece of one trick pony shit compared to such a BMW. Such one trick pony bullshit still impresses a lot of Americans... Sorry, but here in Germany we still laugh about such "comparisons" with a Tesla. I would recommend you: if you have the chance of watching both cars in reality, you would be shocked how fucking crappy built such a Tesla really is, especially side by side to a high quality German high performance car like the M8! How can you even compare such a fucking cheap built Tesla with a BMW M8? Tesla is still procuding bullshit "quality" with their cars, sorry! If you can't understand this fact, then there's something completely wrong with your "imagination" about high quality cars... LOL. The BMW 8 Series has one of the best build quality you will find at any 100.000 - 200.000 Dollar car... period! Better than Mercedes-AMG and also better than some Audi RS cars. BMW has stepped up their game in terms of build quality dramatically! The 8 Series interior is just flawless, buddy! But the Tesla Model S still has just a horrible build quality... The crappiest which you will get for money in the 6 digit price range.

I don't believe this guy what he's cricizing about the sound system in the M8 Comp, because here in Europe test results with the Bowers&Wilkins system are very very good! It just depends on each individuals taste. This guy maybe has totally different preferences than you or me. Personally I know the Bowers&Wilkins system from a M5 and in this car it sounds absolutely fantastic!

Instead, you MUST use the M-mode button which doesn’t permit any customization that I can find. Yeah it keep running the fan for a long time. Been asked to turn off my engine at a gas station ... it was off :). Steering is precise but not delicious as I.e. the E92 was. Also complaining about all the setting is so weird ... it’s to set the M buttons, and you don’t have to use it at all!
