I really like the W222, it beats out the 7 series and the A8 of that time in my opinion. But for someone like me, shopping for big sedans with a 20k budget and looking at 7-10 year old cars with ~100k miles, I'm probably going to en up going with the LS460, that seems a safer bet in the long run.

I paid 33k for my now 7yr old S class. I as well had a budget of about 20k but after driving the car I was two things were clear I was leaving with the car and I needed a new budget. I promise worth every penny.

@@daveh9217 I'd agree. I test drove a fully loaded 2014 S550 priced at $38k with 55k miles last week at my local dealership and would buy it if i didn't buy my E350 less than a year ago. This car is so ahead of its time in 2014, even now. Amazing.

Thanks, Matias. I'm mad at myself because I must have searched for that feature a million times but there are so many things going on in this car that it's easy to overlook certain features. Now I wish I had tried it.

Nice car and nice review. At the price of 128K, it has the same price as Lexus LS600hL. That car is equally awesome, but in a different way. Though I ended up going with Lexus LS because of its reliability, if I have to switch to a German car one day, S Class Benz will get my money. It just sits above BMW and Audi.

I saw pictures of the interior of the new C class and the interior is almost a dead ringer for the new S class. And since the C Class for the US (and Canada?) will be made in the U.S., if Mercedes could keep the cost in line it should sell very well.

what's your thought on the fragrance?

There are 3 settings for it and it's pretty subtle so I liked it. It can be shut off, too. At first, it was part of an optional package but now comes standard.

Great review. The 14 S class is the pinnacle... better than cars twice as much in its category. Maybe better than anything else. Splitview has to be initiated at the dealer through service...some legality to it. The 15 S class has the new touch pad (hand writing recognition, and gestures) that can be used like a smart phone device for easier use. 15 also adds optional head up display. Distronic with steering assist also gives semi autonomous steering control and radar based cruise, collision prevention, pedestrian detection and cross traffic assist
