Me and my family went on a cruise right before covid last February. One of the performers was this Asian lady, and during a skit, she said, "if you can't tell, I'm Chinese". And this was when covid was still new and only in China. She went on with, "how long have I been in the US? 5 years so you guys can stop holding your breath now." Just thought it was funny and figured I could share

Same timeframe, someone coughed behind me & I automatically moved away. Glanced over & it was Asian couple & they were mortified. Tried to make eye contact like it's alright, but they just stared at ground. Felt SO bad! Like I had no idea they were Asian when I moved away.

Absolutely understand freaking out over bed bugs! I’m allergic to the little bastards and can speak from experience on just how insanely difficult they are to get rid of! Took me nearly a year, moving into a brand new apartment with no carpeting, buying entirely new furniture made of materials they can’t easily crawl on, and keeping almost all of my clothing in vacuum-storage bags in a freezing storage unit for 6+ months to finally get rid of them! I wanted to scratch my own skin off at times and couldn’t even tell which spots were bites and which were hives. :(

Bed bugs and lice. The 2 hardest, most annoying things to get rid of. My family dealt with bed bugs a while back when we were staying with a family friend. We, luckily, shook them off when we moved. But lice... We're still dealing with lice on and off. Those things suck and we can't seem to get rid of them.

@@ahhh844 there are certain sprays/shampoos that work on their breathing and suffocating them which they can't grow resilient against you're supposed to use them like once a week for at least three weeks but everyone in the family has to use them (or at least those who have lice after examination ofc) heat above 53c for more than 5m should clean the pillows and sheets lice is fucking hard to get rid of and I'm sure you probably know everything I just told you, it's just some things that ik for sure work it needs patience hope you get rid of it

I was on a cruise about a month ago now. My mother is a crazy travel person and has hated being locked up, and all protests about safety fell on deaf ears (like, if you said you weren’t going, she’d cancel your phone plan/throw a tantrum kind of bs). So we all got vaccinated and flew to Greece. The cruise itself was good. You had to be vaccinated to get on, and they did a rapid test before you could get on. You washed you hands everytime you went into an eating area. The ship itself was at half capacity. You got tested again towards the end of the cruise, if you didn’t do this you couldn’t get off the boat. Everything was sanitized consistently. And if you experienced symptoms, you were quarantined/dropped off at a stop to quarantine. I’m not gonna say it’s super safe to do it, of course staying home is the best case scenario. But if you’re dying to travel or smth, NCL was pretty serious about keeping everything sanitary ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Stay safe everyone.

My boyfriend's friend was on a cruise ship working as part of the main band on the ship. Counting the time he was out and everything was basically "normal", to the time Covid made its way on the ship, he was out for nearly 8 months. Thankfully they had a place to stay, food and water, but when the ship was put on lockdown he was no longer making money. I'm sure he found a way to get some money after getting back on American soil, but he had to live with family for about 6 months after.

Visitor restrictions probably made it less stressful because many ER patients were incoherent (at least too sick to ask questions or, more like, demand answers). Unlike their visitors that were completely coherent and well. Plus less bodies to travel around. Also patients usually aren’t supposed to leave the “beds”. But their visitors…? Free range!!

I have eczema & I've had the worst luck trying to find a solution to the constant hand washing & sanitizing. I had so much trouble in the spring that I went to FIVE different doctors after I tried to treat the open spots at home, only to have derm be the last one & he looked at it for 5 seconds and said "oh, that's allergic dermatitis. Have you been putting Neosporin on that?" This shit started in April and the sores were almost 2 inches long by the time I got to my dermatologist. They haven't fully healed yet either, because of the constant hand washing & the fact I work with a lot of pretty harsh chemicals.

When I took in my cats, they had a nasty fungal infection but were kittens who'd been born feral and needed socialising, so every time I touched any of them, I had to wash my hands to prevent catching it (spoiler alert: still caught it 😅). After about a week, my hands looked like I'd been in a fist fight with a brick wall. I had to get rash ointment and covered my hands in it (then in gloves, because the kittens tried to lick it off and that's no good) when I went to sleep at night so they would heal and not just be open wounds in a fungus-contaminated environment.

It's a nuisance when your glasses steam up - happens coming indoors from the cold too, even without a mask on. Here's how to stop it happening: Put a small blob of washing up liquid on your finger end. (=dish soap outside UK). Spread the WU liquid over both sides of the lens and rub vigorously with kitchen paper until the lens is crystal clear. Lasts about a week, depending on how humid the air is. Scale it up to a big blob & a duster & apply to insides of car windows & they'll steam up less. Can't get to the USA but love your work - reminds me of my nursing days, same damned problems - so good luck with the show. And if you should happen to release a live DVD, we have DVD players in the UK... Stay safe

Not just toilet paper, I remember many things being out of stock. As a germaphobe who would regularly use sanitizer, it made me anxious when there was no refill. I thankfully kept my head and ordered a while case of it from the Dollar store online (24 bottles) and made it last I think about 6 months. Long enough until they got more in. I think though that a lot of people who hoarded items did it to try to sell to vulnerable people. I heard in my city of people going around trying to sell 1 single roll of toilet paper for $10!

3:00 Actually, that price is for going to the hospital period! lol Covid tests are only around 120$, but the gov I thought was giving it away for free. Well someone has to pay for it. So around 150 for a shot and the hospital bed and massive room not needed, yea $5k seems about right. lol My mom had kidney stone removal and she had the biggest room I've ever seen in my life. It could've easily been 2-3 rooms. It had to be the leftover space. But that bill is still being paid and that was a couple years ago. It's insane prices for going to the hospital. Thank God for insurance I guess... but out of network, no. Nope. You get to pay it all...

Steve when you mention not having extra people in the er ==== it made me have flashbacks of last yr when I was in the er with a broken ankle -------and when my roomate was rushed in the er with multiple issues----the majority was diabetic and Moderna Covid Shot related----Moderna caused Afib in my roomate and the er staff because they didnt allow me to be with my roomate , got the wrong info and experimented on my friend with 4 surgeries, a couple of dialysis sessions causing sepsis death.... I had the info and my roomate was not in any shape to represent herself. She died in the hospital and I still blame myself for not being there to represent her

I had to go into the er by myself 10 days after giving birth with postpartum eclampsia and it was so terrifying not to have my husband there when your at risk for possible death. :(

You are hilarious, best wishes on the comedy shows! let us know when you are hitting up the east coast! (I live out that way and I would totally come out to one of your shows!) I do keep a bunch of tp on hand, since that absolute wasteland of empty shelves, but I'm not the kind of lady who goes and buys eleventy billion packs at once. I buy one here and one there. This way if either of my parents need some, I can provide without our household running low. I also constantly try to let people know I have year round chronic environmental allergies. XD I sneeze. I cough. ...the majority of "possible" symptoms of covid I have intermittently, normally. XD ...I got tested out the wazoo at the beginning. Now work is like..eh.. it's normal for you.
