I’m watching this while I’m home sick in bed mid march of 2023 and I literally busted out laughing when you said it’s cold here in LA and then said “it’s been below 50 where some nights” 😅 oh you sweet summer child. I’m in Chicago, 50degrees here in my neck of the woods is like a tropical heat wave! We would be running around in flip flops and cranking up the BBQ if it was that warm. During the winter months it will get below 0 for days on end. Coldest I ever experienced was -30 before the windchill. They actually called off work that day because peoples cars would not start and they didn’t want us to leave pets at home if the power went out from the cold.

I’m from Vermont so 50 degrees in December would be considered a heat wave!! We would of turned heat off and open windows and pray it stayed that way!! I really love your channel, you are hilarious. Don't worry. As long as the Ferrier is good, they don't feel a thing. Basically like trimming your own nails. The middle part that he trims is called the frog. You have to be a little more careful in that area.

Hello! Wisconsonite here. You use your heater when it's in the 40s!! I wear shorts and a tee shirt outside when it's warm like that LMAO. It's so funny to see people who live down south freak out when it sub 40. The last couple days it's been sub ZERO. It even got as cold as -16°!!!! Boy is was a cold one the other night. Yup, horses get that done every 6-8 weeks. They either get trimmed or they get trimmed and new shoes. It depends if they wear shoes. Hoof health is very important!

My 🐈 Cat, is just like the "Spoiled Dog" and shoves the door of the bathroom IN, as hard as if he was a HUMAN!! First couple times I had to look and see if he really did it all by himself!! (Side note: his kitty litter is also in the bathroom and he comes in and we pee side by side)!! 😂😹

Yes a horse's hoof is like a toenail. You have to make sure that you keep them carved and flat. That stuff is digging out in between it's manure and dirt. It doesn't hurt the horse. If you don't do this their hopes will continue to grow and curve and they'll become lame and unable to walk.

I rode horses for 7 years and had to clean their hooves. They don’t seem to mind it! And honestly, it was satisfying!

The Horse one, it doesn’t hurt them because their hooves are made of keratin - the same thing that our hair and nails are made of! He’s just giving him/her a little manicure! And in fact, their hooves can grow VERY VERY long and twisted and prevent them from walking and cause pain if they’re not kept trim - just like us!

It doesn't hurt the horse if done properly. It actually makes their hooves feel better. Like one of the other comments said, it is required to file, clip, shoe etc in order to keep their hooves looking better and especially feel so much better. If they get to long it actually makes them worse

The lows have only been 40s and 50s (mostly) and it's been close to 60. I'm glad to be able save some money on heat and haven't even broken out the winter coat. Lol. So, on the "Pickup lines" bit... I've got one that was used on me (and no, it did NOT work). Here goes. I was 20, and my friends were in a band. I was too young to drink at the time, and I was pregnant, so I was "hired" to accept peoples' cover charges at they came in (it was five bucks a person to come watch the guys play), stamp their hand if they were of-age (they had to show ID), and if they weren't of-age, then they got a black X in Sharpie across the back of their hand where a stamp would go if they were 21+. Hello, My dad when he was alive owned Horses & I’ve also seen sh*t ton horse shoe cleaning videos. It does NOT hurt them, ONLY when you DON’T get it cleaned,trimmed and put a horse shoe on. They can’t actually get infections inside their hooves &/or crack hooves (umm what you call a nail) and this can lead to a lot of problems….

The horse hoof is like our nails but much thicker. They trim the frog , the soft tissue on the bottom of the hoof. That’s like our cuticles. You can make a horse’s feet sore if the farrier cut the the hooves too short.

If you think 50 degrees is cold, DO NOT visit New Hampshire (on the other coast up by Massachusetts & Maine) after October. If we are lucky it will be in the 40s but usually we are in the 20s or less and yes that includes below 0, occasionally we get treated to 30s as well. Now this does not include the messed up weather we have experienced this year alone, (70s in December 50-65mph winds gusting higher for several days at a time....and they say global warming isn't a thing and climate change is a hoax.......I call bull shit!!! The horse doesn’t feel any pain because a horses foot is similar to a tooth, you can grind down on the outside and it is not painful but if you cut too deep it can hurt the horse, but the hose feels no pain during the cleaning and it is a routing grooming step for horses! 😊

So, much like a feral human, horses just go barefoot, and they get foot injuries. Foot injuries can kill a horse in the wild, so they are pretty careful, but mistakes can happen. The shoes reduce their chance of injury, but they keep the hoof from naturally being worn down by the ground, so it has to be cleaned up manually from time to time. What bothers me, is they actually nail the shoe to the foot.

As a horse girl, yes. Thats a farrier. they come out and trim the horses hooves down, put shoes on if the owner wants them, takes care of the horses feet so they dont get too long and cause them to become lame. Brief explanation. lol
