Thanks a lot ! I was looking for a way to teach my hands to grow independent and couldn't find a clear explanation that was breaking it down to simpler steps ! Great stuff :)

By all means, improvise around the concept and do your own thing with it when you get comfortable....that's what I do for sure. Glad the video helped and keep up the great work! Steve

thank you Steve, easy baby steps help heaps. i'm dyslexic so i had to put the computer in front of a mirror to stop getting confused with left and right! both-right-left-both, that's really really helpful, now i can sit down and practice this until i can do it in my sleep!

Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. It helped me a lot! As you 've guessed, 36 years old here, and I'm trying to play the piano. Every evening for almost a year now.

yep, I just thought I'd comment after hearing to the end of your video about 'adults', well, I'm almost 65 and I'm only now learning piano, never played an instrument before this. So, it's fun, and thanks for your great advice. I'm very new and at the stage of trying to overcome the hand independence thing.

I think you could start with either hand. When you start on the word "George" they will both be engaged anyway. Thanks for the question.

Ok, now my wife is gettin' mad at me slapping my legs and saying George Wash-ing-ton. I guess I better not do this behind closed doors or bathroom. People will really get curious. ;) Great lesson and I needed it. Hope to see a tutorial on sustain pedal soon.

Thanks! Sometimes these silly techniques are the most effective :-).

Whenever I come across a difficult rhythmic pattern on piano, I practice it so slow it would drive most people crazy. Extremely slow and accurate practice pays off people. Slowwwww down.

Nice! :-) Try it with Martin Van Buren!

i found it easier going 1(r) and(l) 2and(both) 3(r) and (l) 4and (both) then constantly repeating. ie playing an eigth beat on individual hands and a quarter beat on both hands.however it was this video that inspired me. i now knw what my left hands for. thanx

Canefan17, I am 18 or 19 in this photo. A friend sent it to me fairly recently. I hadn't seen this me in 40 years! My Facebook photo is more accurate, within 5 years at least.

Thanks for the video, I hope this doesn't impact my daily life! Just gonna go watch ben10 with his sister gwen, or peter pen, only then go draw big ben, or write a poem, like big men, with my quill pen, i like that now and then.
