As a vintage watch restorer, I appreciate your attention to details and surface quality finishes. Your CNC blocks remind me of old Geneva pocket watch 'Perlage'. It was a aesthetic finish applied to watch components to add depth and brilliance; but VERY hard to accomplish.

Nothing quite so satisfying as spinning over the assembly and hearing that all cylinders make the same ring tension sound. Had a builder tell me once he listens to that to see if the gaps and tensions were set right.

that sleve thing is cool less parts on the shelf and superb extra locating locking multi purpose loe your videos cant afford it so its great to see the inside tech from a master builder , also love the wagon if anyone ever said thier would be one of those driven on the street and run your times woul have told them to kick rocks. i like what nelson does but your smx is as important to drag and drive as the hemi is to top fuel, just about the time you think its all done you come along ty you mr morris and so kind to us gearheads that get a glimpse of the genious you have created thank you

The intake and valve covers are my least favorite bit, but that comes down to personal preferences. It's kind of different, and that is never a bad thing. Steve is definitely an out of the box thinker, which is what makes his videos so interesting.

Quite a testament to metallurgy of block n heads . I’ve found that rear main seals leak from saddle area. Underneath seal a little ultra silicone on seal registers and at part line solved problems of leaking . Otherwise damn nice job !

I've had wet sleeves harder to remove than those dry ones 🤣 That said if you had the sleeve pre counter bored to clear the valve it would just about be a track side repair. Very nice

It was already. I was looking at that in the video and probably half the reason he indexes the sleeves. To be honest I am a little surprised that it wasn't hand finished because it has a sharp lip on it, but I guess on alcohol it may not be as detrimental as it might be on other fuels. Not sure if the valves are cantered and he might have been able to taper it a bit. The push rods are on an angle not sure if the valves are.

While there was little externally to be seen, some of the fanboys on this channel are driven by looks and wow it cost how much, because they have absolutely no idea about engineering. And while the roughness on the inside would make almost zero difference to performance, to them they would equate the rough finish to somehow being an inferior product. Since Steve has basically made himself a KZbin product, he needs to do things most of us might not even bother doing (I would I have OCD and it would drive me nuts) but it was completely unnecessary to make it run again.
