Lothar Matthaus only player I have seen in midfield I would say was possibly more complete than Gerrard, but Gerrard might be the best goal scorer in open play from 20-30 yards I have ever seen, although I think Hagi just edges him from distance, and also Hagi got dip on a football I have never seen from anyone else, but its between Hagi and Gerrard for long shots Also Stevie might one of the best at volleys ever too, and as both of you have said, he was at least good, if not better, at pretty much all aspects of the game

Stevie G predominantly carried a mediocre team during most of his playing career in Liverpool still managed to win trophies (Not Premier Title). Whereas as Kane on his own hasn't been able to win a single Trophy at Spurs. Don't care what others say about Gerrard but he's the best Midfielder in PL history that I've seen. The only other Midfielder that I rate higer than him is Andre Pirlo.

I know you are just trying to get across to young cats how good Gerrard was, but Bruno? Bruno is not half the player Gerrard was , honestly an insult to Gerrard to compare them. If youth dont know who Gerrard was, imagine the passion and work ethic of Jordan Henderson or Milner, with the passing ability of Trent AA/KDB, Literally better long shooter than ANYONE in the entire league currently, NO ONE is as good at distance shooting in toady's Prem. I honestly think his lack of Prem titles is the only reason anyone ever talks down on him, and deep down those people know that all it would take was 1 and there would be no doubt Gerrard would be proclaimed the greatest, but they literally cant because he does not have a Prem.
