when steven universe future was announced, i was one of the first people who thought steven might corrupt. here's why it SHOULD happen, why i loved the idea from the start & its thematic implications (not the technical evidence, which everyone's already talked about), and why it's GOOD for steven's character.
thanks for watching! like and subscribe for more!

so hey guys! looks like i was right, that's fun. i think steven got exactly what his character needed, for exactly the reasons i laid out here. i was disappointed some of the louder "rant" youtube personalities seemed to not get him (not that they ever did, they've flanderized him and stereotyped him since s1)... i'm not surprised in the least they think any breakdown of his is "rushed" when in reality y'all just didn't pay attention to him for literal years, and that their obnoxiousness made it to the top of the algorithm again, but... hey, at least we're hopefully done now. at least we'll never have to suffer through their terrible takes again. maybe if i make some kind of review of future i'll put some kind of angy word like HATE and AWFUL to trick the algorithm, too. i'd give so much for the cartoon community to Not Be Like This.

I'm really glad I found this video in regards to future, it surprises me that fans of SU are shock to see what is happening to Steven thinking he's some angst-y teenager - we've seen in the original series he has mention his doubts and insecurities quite a few times, we've seen him beating himself up on screen, being blame for things that weren't his fault and almost died quite a few times. I think it does show who has really been paying attention to Steven and who hasn't.

Yes, yes, yes, yes. Thank you. This is part of what's driven me nuts about the fandom at large. I've seen too many people misconstrue Steven's characterization. By the time I'd finished watching the entire series, Steven himself became my favorite. Wanted to say this, even though you don't seem to be active on KZbin anymore. This silly show means more to me than I have the words for.

In a way, I can't wait for the show to end, just because I want to watch all the great videos you're going to make analyzing and dissecting all the aspects of the show and absolutely destroying that weird picture ''''''cartoon critics''''' have painted of it on KZbin. I've been interested in the corruption theory from the beginning and I hope we get to see it!! Just thinking about how they would execute that concept, how they would show what corruption feels like...I get chills whenever I re-watch Jasper's corruption or the scene in Monster Reunion when Nephrite 're-corrupts', imagine how even more emotional they could make those if we could finally see what goes on inside a person's head when they corrupt! Overall I love that concept of revealing something that makes earlier episodes/scenes feel like a whole new experience. Re-watching Rose's Scabbard or Sworn to the Sword after Single Pale Rose felt like we unlocked a whole new 'layer'. Of course, Steven Universe isn't the first one to do this, but they do it in a very unique way, in my opinion.

EZ PZ and E;R come to mind. Dissecting them would be lovely.

Steven's Corruption at this point: *I am inevitable* Anyway This is a great dive into Steven's character, why he's being the way he is, what lead to him being like this, and why Steven Corrupting is gonna be important to him getting better as a character. I'm very impressed at just how much you brought up that I feel a good majority of us have forgotten about Steven and what he's been through. Great job! Edit: OMG DID YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED IN THE EPISODE GROWING PAINS?!?!

it's amazing how accurate this was. o.o AND it makes me understand the last season even more. i was excited for it the whole time while watching this, because it made SO much sense. yet still, your interpretation makes me understand much better how each episode of Future was portraying a shade of whom he had become! cool *.* thx!
