With a tear in my eye...! Really was hoping this was a start of a reunion between the 2 camps. Understand there's a lot of issues both ways but for the sake of Canadian Music as a whole, this band is better together than apart! We're all humans, everything is negotiable!

@@TownGirl04 Yeah, they lost something when Steve left. I saw them live in Kansas City that summer (a few months after the Junos) and while they were true pros, it didn’t really *feel* like BNL. Their set list was mostly recent songs from the post-Steve era which was fine. But it was when they did Brian Wilson, If I Had A Million Dollars, and One Week that Steve’s presence was missed the most.

I was so happy when BNL rejoined to sing their songs together again on the Juno Awards. It brought me real joy to see and hear them. I've rewatched the video several times and it never fails to lift my spirits.

I got choked up watching this. I am so proud of these guys. All of them. They're all so brilliant and talented. I selfishly wanted this to bring them back together, but I'm also old enough and wise enough to know, I was just hoping against hope. (Don't tell the others, but Steve was always my favorite. That voice *kills* me!!)

I wish they could reconcile differences, forgive each other, themselves..I just lost my mother and although she had been ill for a while there's still this lingering sense that I wasted a lot of time holding onto meaningless hurt which prevented me from really being genuinely by her side. That feeling is meaningless too. It's pointless now that she's gone and I really believe that if these guys could realize how much they are really missing by staying apart, like not even being friends anymore.. It's truly tragic. The truth is I've always cleaved hard to my mom well into adulthood and even that's not enough to express how much I loved her, appreciated her and will always need her heart and guidance. These fellas created something that's never going to be recreated and sadly by being apart they are truly diminished and it really doesn't have to be that way. You can't spend 20 years together with someone, creating, touring and living together without meaning so much to each other. I fear there's a day coming where they'll be older and realize that they've really wasted something special over feelings that change and fade over time. Time that forgives and never stops moving you further. There's always time. Let go. Be whole. The world needs BNL.

BNL is the soundtrack of my youth man... Such nostalgic music. I really struggle with their new stuff without Steve though! I saw them live this last year, and while they definitely were entertaining they were missing that Steve sound to really make it sound like true BNL. In my opinion he's the stronger singer, better than Ed and way better than the other guys, who while they are talented don't come anywhere close. Wish they could squash this thing and really truly reunite, but I know that probably won't happen. So sad to see one of my favorite bands get older knowing I'll probably never get to listen to them live as I remember them sounding.

Steven should have never bowed out, even being obviously embarrassed by getting caught in a very precarious situation. Everybody's got things that are hidden away in their past, and I bet Ed certainly is far from being a saint! Oh well, guess those royalty cheques help soften the situation. Steve, you definitely were one of the two lynch pins responsible for the incredible success of TBNL, PERIOD!

I have always been under the impression that Steven was asked to leave, that it wasn’t quite his own decision so much as it was the other four offering, “hey, at this point we consider you a liability to our family-safe image, so if you’re willing to go quietly and politely, we will retain the IP rights and continue as a four-piece, and as a favor to you we will cover your heiney in the press and this won’t have to blow-up into some kind of big honkin’ deal… deal?” Have I been mistaken this entire time?

I call BS on BNL - completely unrehearsed? Really? Now I don’t know much about planning the Junos, but I’d like to believe that if you’re invited to the awards, there would be some sort of indication on your invitation of whether you’ll be attending as an award recipient or merely as a guest of CARAS 🤔 But what do I know?

@@PieNinjaGO my recollection of the time is that Steven was “asked to leave” by the rest of the band as they collectively considered him a liability at that point, and didn’t want to endanger their family-friendly image. Then again, this was fifteen years ago and I may have spent the past decade and a half laboring under a wildly misinformed/misinterpreted/misunderstood delusion 🫤
