This is really good movie- Spielberg has captured that Cold War atmosphere perfectly.

What we could expect more from Coen's brother and Spielberg collaboration? Hands down.

Hon. Mortimer W. Byers , my grandfather, was the judge in this case. His wife, was Kate House Byers, whom Grandpa lovingly called Dolly. The only thing that irritated me in the movie, "Bridge of Spies", was Grandpa calling Grandma "Molly." Close, but erroneous. Otherwise, I enjoyed the film. However, the actor playing Judge Byers, did not in any way resemble him, certainly not in manner, which was gentlemanly and dignified. Mortimer Byers Barron

MUNICH (2005) slays this film, as does CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (2002). Rylance was damn solid though.📽 _c.

Among all Spielberg's movies, this is my favorite because it's based on 'true events' and Berlin, East and West as a backdrop. 5/5 Bangkok-Johnny rating.

I think the title of the picture is a metaphore of Donovan being the bridge or the link between the Soviets and the US or to be specific between the Russian Spy"Abel" and the American Pilot(Spy in the eye of the Soviets)"Powers".

I would love to see Spielberg and Hanks do the Daniel O'Connell story. It would be Tom Hanks crowning role

Great film, but I think Gary Powers was incredibly miscast. The actor simply did not project brave military pilot. I also still do not understand why Donovan had to stay in a hovel in Berlin while the others got to stay at the Hilton.

7:03 great to see Francis Gary Powers Junior got a role in this movie. However the Lockheed U-2 shown is a later long-nose type, while in May 1960 Powers flew an U-2C with slipper tanks.

a great storyteller but also a great story and the actors were sooo good - we thought oh no, not again that old stuff, but then its universal to play fair even if others are filled with prejudices and hate you, and then that spy was sooo nice , too, in the end (no spoiler intended :-) - we all cried ....
