Great interview. Funny to see how impressed Spielberg was with Bobbie's acting! Would love to see her interview Steven again today!

Spielberg's only missing his trademark 'baseball cap with one of his movies' logos on it'.

Just like Bobbie in this video I've seen "E.T.", but not "Poltergeist". Although I assume she eventually saw it at some point. But not me. I still haven't seen it.

She was very astute here 4:46 but Spielberg clearly wanted to maintain the magic and talk around the mechanics of ET

He refuses to say ET was mechanical or moving under mechanical operation

It’s a little inconsiderate he didn’t bring Hooper’s name up once.

I agree. I believe this was intentional. In an interview with Fangoria magazine from the early 80s, Tobe Hooper stated that Spielberg deliberately tried to downplay Hooper’s involvement as director of Poltergeist because he didn’t want it to compete with E.T. at the Oscars. Hooper accused Spielberg of starting the rumor that he was the real director of Poltergeist so that Hooper wouldn’t even be considered for an Oscar.
