I love this show because having spent years auditioning for a variety of shit, this is pretty much what it's like to a)audition and/or b)get the job and perform. I've had consistently weird, wonderful, scary and downright surreal experiences doing TVCs, film, TV, acting small roles, theatre, voice, extra work and all that. Toast of London is a hyper-accurate representation of what it's like. So kids, don't do drugs, just audition! Too Wit Too Woo!

You never really think about shit like this. So Colin has a very flamboyant personality. All Toast did was EXACTLY what was asked of him, do it like Colin did it. He nails it. But Colin is then personally insulted by the way Toast delivered it as they think Toast was making fun of them. People like that have no self-reflection. So they see it as an insult from Toast. Hilarious.

He was also insulting him - OBVIOUSLY, which is made extremely clear with his disdainful, "All right buddy" and mocking his Northern accent. This is a very British joke that a lot of Americans won't understand, between cosmopolitan Brits and the Yorkshire/Northern accent. There's a reason he stretches out "guiiiiiiiiiide". The performance he gave was intentionally sarcastic. But yes, the joke works on TWO levels - the first being exactly what you said - that he "did it like he did" - but he also did it SARCASTICALLY like he did and then punctuated it with the All, right, BOODY, mocking the Jordy accent, insulting him by overdoing it, as he obviously knew the guy didn't want him to do it in *his* voice. lol It's both things going on, there. He was insulting him - *and* not insulting him - which is what makes it funny.
