Yes he did write the lyrics. It's a deeply personal song.

I met him not 10 days ago, we were lined up at the hotel door and he came down for some photos and autographs, and he took the time to greet each fan with a hug (a real, honest to god heart, not just for the pics) and a kiss on the cheek (our argentinean greeting) and I just couldn't believe that he was such a down to earth guy. He couldn't greet everybody in the line because we were just too many, but he promised he would come back and do it again for those who didn't get a chance. Goosebumps and tears watching that. nearly 4 years clean/sober. but been really really struggling recently. heard that song but never really listened to the lyrics before. Really resonated with me and i felt my spirit again for first time in god knows how long. such a beautiful song and meaningful. reminded me i have service to do and love to give. if anyone out there is struggling, i promise that your loved. Peace.

I too am a survivor from the pit of hell. 17 yrs and counting. I Love everything about you, everything!!! I went to see Aerosmith Concert in Albuquerque in .1993, but because of poor choices I missed the whole gig. I was there but missed it. As a living Amends to myself, next time you're here...well, let's just say, "I don't want to miss a thing!" Carry on you badass, I Love and appreciate you!

To think of how far Steven's come in his own personal recovery warms my heart so much. You can really see how much the words of this song mean to every single band member as the camera shows each of their faces. The violinist plays beautifully as do each of the musicians. I had never really listened & took the time to understand the true meaning of the lyrics as much as I did today when I heard this version. They all seem very grateful for life & you can feel the love in the room. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of heaven with us. XO

I've watched this video for 2 months..... How #blessed is Steven Tyler to be so good what he LOVES. There was definitely an "Angel of Mercy on his shoulder", he seems like a non judge mental man, who is happy for what he's accomplished, and continues to do so, for fun, and for love. You are #blessed #steventyler YOU are pretty awesome......

Two old guys, both nearly 70, Richie and Steven, playing the song they wrote together. But how! I could not stop listening to this, i have watched it 30 times at least in the last days and it still knocks me off my feat! All I can say is: Thank you Richie and Steven (and of course drummer and violin player) for this outstanding performance! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER ALL OF YOU!

Imagine writing a guitar solo so good people put so much effort and passion into it to be able to play it on a different instrument and becoming so good at it Tyler can't take his eyes of him. Someone dedicated so much time and passion into something you made that must just feel well AMAZING😅
