I don't think you mentioned it, but the fanbase seem to agree that those living walls and statues are gems that got "harvested". Not deserving to be shattered, but have no purpose to the grand scheme. Gave me a real Dante's Inferno vibe from that type of suffering.

I doubt it, the Diamonds see gems as tools, not people, it's perfectly in character for them to create a species of gem to act as statues or security or something horribly mundane and boring.

I feel that they were just accidents. Bring exposed to the diamonds mist essence brought them alive since they are so nearby.

@@timemonkey But why? They see Gems as tools, not architecture. Gem creation is expensive. Why would they waste resources on making Gems for such purposes when regular steel could do it just as well? The only logical explanation is that it's their form of recycling.

Couple of things you should know Blue: Era 2 started when Pink Diamond was “Shattered” all the way up to now. Also, in the song, Familiar, Steven was comparing his life with the Gems in the beginning of the series to Pink's relationship with the other Diamond's.

It's sad because pink diamond is a diamond but isn't treated like it and whenever she's serious, sad, angry or trying to help she's treated like a young child. And she LITERALLY IS a jester. Just look at her outfit, pearls old outfit, how the other diamonds treated her and not to mention the large amount of pebbles created from PINK'S TEARS! No wonder she rebelled, she hated the role she was made for (like she said in Greg the babysitter?) and despite the fact she was supposed to be a leader (which she ended up becoming)

If Steven can create the pebble with his tears/body fluids; maybe the extraction chambers are just a way to obtain easy "creation juice" from the other diamonds to create more gems, and that's why in Yellow's case, they start talking about it just after that scene.
