Not really out of a ton of the other cn characters Steven is probably the most likely to break free as long as the other gems all try to help him because something similar happened whare he became a huge monster and he's the one that has managed to restrain himself the most also he could have easily corrupted lion and he didnt

7:46 is probably my favorite part, it not only shows Steven still being somewhat conscious, but highlights his belief that Pibby is the reason everything went wrong and she is somehow responsible for bringing the darkness to their world which just isn't true.

Its the fact that young steven bubbled the crystal gems to save them from himself cause the corruption just made him hold the bubble cause it couldnt open it

8:01 Right here. This honestly made me a little sad when Steven blames Pibby and it shifts to her for a second. Even though Pibby has no idea what's happening herself. The only things she does know is that she needs to survive and help as many people as she can. But another reason why I love this part is because when Steven sang this (for those who haven't watched the movie) he was referring to Spinel. 17:15 And this part in the show as Steven got older, he was under too much pressure and one day just snapped.

I have a small theory that when he blames her perhaps pibby saved them and got them away from him and the corruption is making it seem like she took his friends

@@MrPhantom-k7b That's a pretty good theory considering the fact that the corruption makes characters say certain phrases they said before and use it against people who aren't affected. Also, Pibby might be the main target for the corruption. So I think when Steven sang this part, the corruption had a part to play forcing Steven to believe that Pibby is the cause of everything happening to him despite Steven still resisting.

>:) i have a head-canon of this, you don't have to follow it but in my head they already got corrupted and began to attack steven [reasoning: if you look closely the corruption has actually attached to the gems INSIDE the bubble.] he somehow defended himself, he probably got sad and scared and ended up getting infected due to the 'darkness' coming towards him as a big goopy mess while he was distracted. judging by how he bubbled them he was probably planning on escaping but didn't make it.
