I agree completely with Steven on the Black Sabbath album. I just bought their eponymous debut on vinyl. Absolutely, and eerily, gorgeous.

I love buying CD's, but I can't afford as much of them as I'd like to. That's the real issue.

@ajd626 Understand what you are saying, maybe it is a generational thing. I certainly understand his comments regarding vynyl, digital is a great medium but I used to love looking at a 12 inch record cover, it was part of the excitement of buying the album. Being an old sod (being polite to myself) I will not buy songs on line whilst I still have the choice of either a CD or a 12 inch. It's cool if you have a different view, like to understand more of where you are coming from.

@1956gooner That's cool. I completely respect your opinion and Wilson's opinion. I think the thing that bugs me (about a lot of the comments I read about him) is that I feel people confuse simply sharing his opinion with his intelligence. Yes, he is intelligent but being intelligent doesn't necessitate his opinion. I fear people might be being bewitched by his excellent speaking manner! I maybe wrong though.

I get frustrated with the great fuss about this man, particularly the massive praise for his intelligence and knowledge. Yes, the man knows a lot, is clearly very clever, and can express himself very eloquently but, for all this, he's expressing sentiments that are not all that exciting. His comparison of music albums to paintings is actually not very well argued at all. Generally, in interviews, he makes assertions and doesn't back them up with reasons. I'm open to debate though.
