30 years since my brother lost his 6-month-old son and I still can't watch this without losing it. Some hurts never go away.

Omg, that’s sad. You’re right, some hurts stay with us and are a part of our lives.

One of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard. Musically, vocally, so intense, and the imagery that Steven uses for his story… wow. Always brings me to tears.

at one of the last Epica live (AFAS 2023) Steven Wilson is in the front row in the audience. If I'm not mistaken this is a live version of the song “unleashed”. unexpectedly 😁

Genius, beautiful, powerful track and powerful response Z. I had tears in the eyes watching this clip (again) and also watching the impact on you - knowing how often and lovingly you speak of your 2 daughters. Would seem impossible to put yourself into that situation yet Steven and Ninet appear to do so just perfectly. (I trust you caught the headline on the news clipping on the floor there - that she lost not just her 2 children but also her husband in a school shooting) Once you have recovered sufficiently and if you are game - can I make 3 more suggestions? This same song but from the Home Invasion LIVE at the Royal Albert Hall DVD. It is a bonus track on that DVD (but is on KZbin) and they perform this track at their reheasal to a completely empty hall and somehow, that makes it even more chilling and haunting. The video plays on the huge screen behind them. Then while on the theme of loss - you must do the same with The Raven that Refused to Sing. Watch and react to the official video first, but then watch and react to the video of Steven and his band performing that song as the closing track of the same concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This track Routine is pure art as you have stated, but Steven himself once stated that The Raven he believed was the greatest song he had ever written - at least up until the time of its release back in 2013. Take some deep breathes and I look forward to catching your next Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree reactions tomorrow 🙂

Thanks a lot for your nice Feedback. I definitely will do a reaction video to The Raven that refused to Sing. But I’m not sure if I’ll do a reaction to the live versions directly afterwards. Or maybe some time later. I must think about it first. Greetings 🙏

Did you see the headline on the newspaper?

I warned you you'll need a big box of cleenex. Steven Wilson- The Prince of sadness and melancholy. The raven that refused to sing is pretty sad too. Just so you know😊
