After decades, I bought Tomb Raider: Legendary for Series X. I played through it once on the PC and thought it was great. But then I lost track of it. After playing through it again, I still think it's great. At the time, I thought Anniversary was a remake of part 1. I wasn't impressed by it at the time and never finished playing it, and I thought Underworld was a standalone game. I've only just found out that Anniversary isn't a remake, but the second part of the Legend series and Underworld is the third part. I'm playing it at the moment and I still think Legend is better. It looks prettier, but otherwise I think Anniversary is way behind Legend. This is the second time that I've had to see how I can progress because I'm just going around in circles. I'm surprised that you say Anniversary is Tomb Raider 1.

This one game proved to me that they CAN remake an old game and lose nothing. Seems like a no brainer for so many older titles. Not every game has to be a substantial chunk of your life which also kills replayability. NG+ helps but isn't the same as a shorter, tightly written experience.

It sure does seem like you get WAY less time underwater then you did in the older games...Still looks like a pretty good game so far, 24 mins in lol. I'm glad you made a longplay of this title, cause of all the TR players out there so far that I've seen, your's seem to be the most quick and efficient (plus you like to do the 100% which is what I like 😉). Fantastic playthrough! As much as I did enjoy SquareEnix's recent Tomb Raider titles, I still feel like this series was the "true" successor to the original TR series. There's just something about the mechanics that "feels" like an upgrade to the original game-engine.

I remember when i was a little girl, probably i was 5 or 6 years old when i first played this game. My dad loves to play ps games and he taught me how to play the game. He mostly used to play god of war and i loved to watch him when he played games. In this game my favourite part was the trex and i always replayed that part. As I grew up, new Tomb Raider games came out, and I played and finished them as well. My dad would help me in the parts I couldn't pass. Now watching old tomb raider games feels like i'm going back to my childhood.

One thing I have noticed about this game is that Lara learned a very big lesson through out her journey in this game. You see, Lara has been killing animals in the beginning of this game until it came to the point where she had to stand up to the people who where trying to stop her from getting the most important thing she needed to know about in her life. And so when she killed Larson and saw blood on her hands she started to get anxious and scared because it wasn't animal blood this time but human blood. She then had to face and try to kill more other people who tried to kill her. A lesson to be learned to never be ashamed or scared of killing a person who tries to kill you because your life is more important than theirs in your own eyes and by seeing that, you will have to defend yourself the best way you can to survive. Otherwise you will fail at the end. That's why when you see Lara look at her hands for the last time at the end of the game, she no longer looks anxious or scared anymore but even more braver and powerful inside herself to stand up against others who try to harm her.

I am trying with all my might not to rage quit this game 😅. The first boss constantly got stuck in the walls, the slow motion gun mode didn't work properly with the second one, the grapple didn't want to latch on to the thing that lowers the bridge because of a bug and now im on level 10 at 2:40:00 dying 50 times because Lara just doesn't want to jump from the first hook on to the second. Even when it works, she doesn't want to grab the ledge leading to the switch because the wall is sticking out a bit and she falls to her death 😂. These are tears of anguish lmao.

I remember RAGE quitting this game because of Level 13 The Great Pyramid. Those jumps between platforms were so complex because the loops or hocks would retract so fast, not giving me enough time to build momentum swing to the other platforms 😡plus the controls & camera angle would have me accidentally jumping off the platforms or jumping the wrong way.

Are you playing on PC? If so, dont run the game with over 60 fps. Otherwise, the bug which Lara doesn't grab the ledge will happen for sure. Or you can just reach the edge before jumping, then just jump backward and immediately use grapple to grab the ceiling hook. Sounds crazy, but it works sometimes 😃

Turn on the Vsync to limit the fps below 120 fps. If possible, and you're running with Nvidia GPU, go to the control panel and set the fps limit to 60 then return to this part and try again. This should help fix the issue. The higher the fps, the more bugs may occur 😅

I'm not seeing nearly as much of this in this walkthrough so it's obviously a PSP issue. It still looks incredible on the PSP. I'm at the Obelisk of Khamoon currently. This jump (2:39:52) seems physically impossible on the PSP for example..

I remember that I used to play with my dad and my sister this game, and I am pretty sure that we spent almost a week in level 5, and you cpmpleted it in just a minutes.

When the moment the screen is blurred, keep holding your aiming key (LT) and press roll button (B) with any directions to perform the adrenaline dodge 😉

@oscarisopthebest3424 because most of the jumps and grabs are excessively scripted. If you jump early or late, Lara might not try to reach her hands to grab the ledges 😅

There are two games on ppsp One is tomb raider legend and the other is tomb raider anniversary Which should i play 1st to understand the story

The story of Anniversary is the same as Tomb raider 1. It's just a remake of TR1 back in 2007. I suggest start with this. Then proceed to Legend. The only reason is the story of Tomb raider underworld involves some characters from Legend and Anniversary 😅

people tend to give this game too much flack, and while i can admit it's not as good as the original, it's not a bad effort on Crystal Dynamics part when they took over after Core Design. i think the main flaw i had with the game was the overuse of that hook thing she uses. Legends overused it as well, which is why Underworld ended up being my favorite of the 3. but i still like this game, i just wish they kept it more like the original, but that was Core Designs gameplay style. so maybe they felt like, they didn't want to be a copy, that's why it's called Anniversary, it's more like a tribute to the original but with some added changes. the dinosaur turned to a boss, whereas in the original the T-Rex was something you encountered, that was scary by itself, but giving him a heath bar and some boss battle music took away from the atmosphere.

Underworld gives her grappling hook more than merely traverse somewhere far away. I like the idea in underworld she can use her grapple hook on puzzle solving. Sadly in later games grappling hook still revert back to the state like legend and anniversary. People dislike anniversary the most is because of written script. Players may experience difficulties when jumping across some tricky places

@Steven3517 i can confirm that being the case, sometimes the way you had to jump, especially with the grappling hook, sometimes it doesn't always grab what it supposed to. that's because they set up certain parts to get certain treasure pieces, but you also have the main way your supposed to go. so because you have different platforms that one leads to the path you need to go forward, and another path for hidden treasure. getting to the path you need to go oftentimes requires the grappling hook, sometimes getting to hidden treasure can require it as well. it sucks worse when you try to come back around to the starting point you were originally at.

@@stevenPCGaming Yes. Managed it now after many attemps. My first time playing it in years, thought it was a timing thing, did not realise you had to save the jump once you landed by pressing a key.
