I felt so honored that they were there, having seen a complete English-subtitled Zyuranger on KZbin a few years ago! However, I couldn't think of any questions to ask them, and I felt the language barrier might be a hindrance if I did think of one. I missed this panel, and was very reluctant to go, not out of disrespect for Super Sentai (which I'm a fan), but again, the language barrier and how good the translator was. I think, considering the type of questions they were getting, the translator and the actors tried their hardest to overcome these issues. I feel glad to know that they did get a small tour (on a boat) of my hometown, Houston! I hope they enjoyed themselves while they were here!

I have no choice but to agree with you. I am a fluent speaker of Japanese, and this interpreter was very bad. Honestly, they need to be very strict on hiring an interpreter because I stopped watching this clip, being so fed up with his Japanese...This dude is not fluent at all with the language. It was very apparent because the sentai actors would have spoken Japanese more often but didn't bc they felt uncomfortable with this interpreter dude. That being said, I would have been more than willing to step in to take his place if I was there.

Sorry you feel about that. The guy was a Volunteer, he wasn't paid at all. It was kind of a last minute thing to get Volunteers.

Yuuta is 100% flirting with Reiko half the time. He's also kinda great at it, even doing it in two languages XD The guy has a ton of charisma.

He loves to rib people and also Reiko was a high schooler when she starred Zyuranger so she is like a younger sister to him.

i'd ask them "what did you think of mmpr if you ever watched it, when they didn't use the kung fu styles applied to your characters, according to your zords?" like dragon ranger = dragon claws kung fu ect. but in mmpr it was karate

FFS it's not that much to hire a competent translator. If you're already shelling out big bucks for guests from Japan, a certified interpreter is pocket change.

Ok...... I'm more of a power rangers fan but I respect your opinion

I think PRIS and Megaranger were equally good in my opinion. I generally like super sentai more than PR, but the PR season that I liked more than sentai counterpart was RPM.

As a person who speaks Japanese, I just think that the interpreter guy just lacks proficiency in the language in general.

@@itsrectimemedia I see. I do speak Japanese better than this dude and the other dude I saw on Morphicon..Hope I can get a chance to interpret for them. Would be a great honor..since I grew up on sentai more than PR.

@@cjkim2147 Yuuta's English is better than the guy's Japanese. I don't claim to be proficient yet myself but I also wouldn't raise my hand to go up there and confuse the guests.

@@JosephTheAustin Even the guy who interpreted for Karen Ashley’s channel wasn’t good either. The only person I thought it was good was the Japanese lady in morphicon, but she seemed to not know much about sentai, so she would get some of the titles wrong….(mistaking GoKaiger for Goranger…which is a big one) I pretty much know sentai inside out, and even if I don’t I would have asked the exact title so that I won’t confuse the fans.

Garbage translator needs to stop trying to interpret their English.

He was a last minute volunteer. I’d talked to the organizer that next time to have a Japanese person do it instead.
