The Libertines burned big and quick, such a staple of a band in my teens here in the UK. "Can't Stand Me Now" by them is a must

Aaaahh I love The Libertines (and Babyshambles, DPT, their solo stuff). Peter Doherty and Carl Barât's relationship was so intense which makes their _music_ so intense. Up The Bracket is an easy 10/10 album for me. Definitely react to Can't Stand Me Now, basically defined a whole era of British garage rock

I'm 38 now. This album - Up the Bracket - defined by late teens and early 20s. Absolute golden.

The Libertines were epic! Also check out their song “Can’t stand me now.” The riff on that song will fill your soul with joy. Another British band from around this era you could check out; Embrace (there’s a song called “Ashes” which is a particular favourite of mine) but their entire “Our of Nothing” album is amazing. Snow Patrol were a really good Irish band around this time too, you might have heard them? “The Charlatons” were great too. And “James” their song “Sit down” is amazing.
