People are saying she has dementia, I don't think so. Listen again. That woman never went off topic! She wanted to tell him about the burner, he's there to fix the burner. Then he asked her why she's losing her license, she told him exactly why. At the end, he tells her she doesn't need that room, she says she specifically built that room and wants to use it. she brought up her husband's paperwork, because he was looking at it stacked there. This woman's mind is not drifting, she may even be sharper now than she was back in the day. Everything she said sounded logical, truthful, and thought out.

I lived in a house with boilers/brick 2-flat for over 30 years & had minimal service problems. Infact, I prefer steam/water radiator heated heat compared to forced air any day. Forced air heat is nowhere near as cozy & the air quality in the house isn’t good as the ducts generate too much dust. Now as far as working on these units, I’m sure that’s another story. But since the boilers that were in the place I lived for decades, I’m thinking they were made to last & were very sturdy. I miss my radiators although the drawback to them is they cut space out of rooms like a bedroom of which many bedrooms & closets were made small in alot of houses back in the day as people lived very simple & virtually had no big wardrobes unless you were rich. Most houses in Chicagoland are over 100 years old. I can’t see these newly built houses lasting that long unless the best materials were used like they used to use back in the day.
