I heard a story a long time ago from a plumber about a job where this woman in a real nice house needed a kitchen sink fixed. I think he had to replace a garbage disposal and pipes under the sink. Her kids were all over the place, taking his tools, getting under the sink, in the way. He patiently waited every time. And the woman said in a cheerful voice " I hope my kids are not bothering you too much " He replied " Not at all, I get 350 an hour no matter how long it takes me " She immediately took the kids out of the kitchen. Some people are just oblivious to common decency

That is one chitty job. Worked on an efulent pump once. Got that tank opened and the smell was great. Pump truck came and emptied it and ate lunch with the pumper right there. Next level Steve. Mama Steves working again.

How easy/hard is it to get sick working on these sewage pits? Can’t they have shit growing in them that you breath in and make you sick? Or is it just a case of don’t get it in your mouth?? I would be wearing a splash face guard.

The best part is that they never checked to see if the sump basket had rags in the bottom, ready to burn out the new motor. Always check the basket for more rags
@donaldlee6760
@donaldlee6760 7 жыл бұрын
Drone Wild - do you mean use a long stick and scrape the bottom of that nasty pit to find more rags? That's really gross and I'd start getting sick, but probably a good idea.

I was ready to comment that he should of used a stick or broom handle with a piece of wire, to try and snag any other pieces of rag that might still be there.

so basically the turds get ground up by the impeller and injected into the main sewer outlet, kool. wish i had a turd grinder in my basement. the toilet in my house just empties through the hole in the floor underneath it then onto the basement floor. good video Steve.

I work in sewage treatment plants along with many pump stations and i knew right away it was plugged. lol He can use the pump somewhere else. Who was the genius to put screws in lid ? Should be bolts even in a small application. At least there wasnt all sludge packed to the rim. lol What size tank and or volume was this used for ? And a side note that electrical outlet should not be where it is. Thanks Steve i enjoyed watching someone else dealing with it. lol

Hey Steve. Love watching your videos! Cam-out with those screws is a bugger! Get yourself an impact driver. I just got one a year ago and they are amazing. Pretty well never damage a screw. And you don't have to press as hard either. I'd never go back to a regular drill for driving screws. Cheers!

Great video Steven. I have watched many of your videos, you do a great job passing along your knowledge and humor! I have been in my ejector pit more times than I care to remember. If there is one piece of advice I can pass along to everyone is... Buy the BEST pump you can get (Zoeller in my opinion). And the float switch is the weak link in the system.

Who can I call that normally takes on this kind of job? I need to have my entire lid replaced on a large sewage sump very similar to this. I haven't been able to get any plumbers to call me back on this except for one company that attempted to reseal it, but recommended I call someone else to have the lid replaced.

Thank you for sharing your work. You should have been more meticulous in diagnosing what went wrong with that sump pump, besides doing a plug-in power test. The obvious malfunction for a sump pump/garbage disposal is congestion. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to accept to do it

It’s funny when you said I’ve got it unplugged. I remember being in a hurry doing one of these in a sump pit, got all the pipes disconnected and went to pull the pump out and the dam thing started up, within half a second was like I jumped into a pool. I was so freakin pissed could not believe I was that fking stupid forgot to unplug that piece of shit. It never happened again, that was the Lesson that day. Thank God I didn’t do that in a shit pit.

OMG..that guy always makes me laugh. I love his poultry, they are all looking plumped and smooth feathered showing good attention to the correct protein, minerals and carbs in the feed before them. I was quite impressed with the White Leghorn pullets, they were not flighty appearing as so many are when you enter a coop space, not only that but: they also showed a good body appearance and no comb, or any wattle sores, no broken and twisted toes, no broken breast bones displayed by smooth, even breasts. These are just some of the things that judges look for at shows, fairs and so forth. I did not see any juvenile White Leghorn roosters. I would love to see how he would raise them and pick out a quality bird, they are some of the most difficult common poultry found in small farms today. So, I am hoping that some people who are trying to decide what breeds of chicken to populate the barn/coop they have, will stop and look at the birds he has. Thank you for reading this way to long post.
