I've always had gas heat but watching the oil burner services are my favorite.

You’re very Lucky all your boilers are inside and you have a lot of room around them. Most of our oil fired boilers are outside and most people get them serviced in the winter when it’s freezing dark and wet 🥶🥶 these boilers make me jealous 😂

Looks like a low boy version of my mom's furnace. Probably a Metromatic, they were made in Waltham. The one at my mom's house is so old it has a Beckett SR burner, 1725 RPM.

Steve, waste oil furnaces are just about the same as working on diesel fired home furnaces. The only real differences are the oil is heated to about 140 degrees and it has shop air going to them at about 10 to 14 psi. I have had my clean burn for 25 yrs and the main thing that goes wrong with them is the nozzle gets plugged. You have to be careful not to get any water in your used oil tank that you burn from also. Other than that they are pretty simple to work on. Just clean the ash out twice a year and keep your oil as clean as you can and they are pretty trouble free.

I work in southern california with the natural gas company here. I don't think we have any of these types of heaters here. Of course I wouldn't be called for one (or knowingly because ice been called for heaters that are 100% electronic). It's like keeping a tank of gasoline for heat (kerosine, what have you that's petroleum based).

Steve, Thank you for taking care of your elderly customers. This poor old guy could not hear and his mind was not the sharpest but he is doing better than our poor president that hardly has a mind left. With Biden getting more senile by the day and VP Harris on the campaign trail , who is helping lead the country, very worrysome?
