Well...I hope that all works out for you. At 63, I've packed all sorts of shotguns...back when I was..young and 'violent'...I carried a Mag 10...I'd have to drag it now...but if you want to see a smoked target with 9s, load up 2 1/4 ounces in a ten. But why would you want to shoot rat shot? A doubleX winchester #5 at 50 yards it jellos their head...at 70, it just kills them. But...when you get some age on you, twelve pounds of artillery ain't fun no more. So, it's back to the model 12 or 1100 or browning...using 2 3/4 shells and happy results. I bought a little mossberg 410 pump...it's a 25 yard gun and I think too much of the gobbler to throw a thimble of shot at him. It's not about my ego, it's about not flopping a bird all over the hillside and chasing it through the sawbriers. There's a certain satisfaction to BLAM, DOA, pick up your bird and go to the house...I don't see that happening with a garden gun.

If you looked at the pattern, you’d be able to see that’s far from a wounded bird. Most of my birds are within 15 yards. Why would I want to use a 10ga on a bird that doesn’t take much to kill? Seems like a bit of overkill. I wouldn’t be using the 410 TSS for a anything past 40 yards. A 12ga 2 3/4 shell has about the same shot load as the 410 TSS so how is that any different? If I didn’t have confidence in my gear to kill efficiently, why would I promote it?
