I have two Stevens rifles a favorite and a scout .22's they had been in the family staring brand new back in 1895 and had been shot alot I hadto have the scouts barrel re lined and reblued the favorite is still all original but I'm thinking about having it redone two maybe or just reblued ot case hardened

Greetings from the UK . I have one of these rifles. I got it from my father when he decided to give up shooting. He got it via a Canadian seaman and a black market trader when he was a teenager in WW2. Most of the blueing has worn of and become brown. At some stage the bore must have been excessively worn, because the barrel has been drilled out and a new bore sleeved in. Original sights are gone and it has a vernier appature rear tang sight and an appature front sight. It's a stupidly accurate rifle. Out shoots my 9422, and that's got a scope. The work on yours is wonderful. Love the longer barrel. I recommend getting sights like mine to realize it's full potential. Cheers, Chris.

I just picked up a Model 1915 in mint condition so I would never do any restoration on it (other than mount a period correct tang sight), but since yours needed work I totally agree with what you had done to yours.

Wow that looks AMAZING! He did an awesome job for sure, well worth it. I just bought one of these and an extra barrel in 32 RF long that I will be converting to centerfire but keeping the original chamber and using 32 Colt long, I might go the same route that you did with the refinishing!

Its from a cooey ranger, but the Octagonal sleeve is the remainder from the old barrel, so it still says Stevens on it! And thank you!

I have that very gun given to me by my dad back in the 60’s. The hood is missing from the front sight, and at some point someone cut into the octagon area to mount a scope cutting out some of the inscription by Stevens (I don’t even know if that can be repaired), and the stock has some wear in it. Anyhow, it made a great small game and target gun for a young teen. I haven’t fired it in many years, it only shoots long rifle. I don’t know how to date one of these guns. It’s safely stored etc. at some point I would love to see if I could get some refurbishing work on it by a good qualified gunsmith. Thanks for your video.

It's an amazing piece of firearms technology! Not sure if that bit on the octagonal part can be fixed but it may be able to get filled, that's too bad! I'm in love with older firearms and I don't find the new ones very attractive. Thanks for watching!

Great video do you know what year is stamped on yours? I have one currently at a local gun shop trying to get operational again. Mine is stamped Oct 29, 89 It has different sites. The lever does move and the hammer cocks back and the drop action drops but when you close the lever the hammer will not pull back manually. I had it at one local gunsmith and he thinks that somebody put the wrong spring inside the mechanism so I’m having somebody else look at it to see if it’s something that can be swapped out and repair ticket operation again. I’d love to share some pictures with you let me know if you have an email address that I can send to get your thoughts. Thank you I also have a Stevens Junior that is fully operational that is stamped July 7 1904 But that is merely the patent date so I’m not sure of the production date or age of this rifle. It is in remarkable condition according to the gunsmith who I took this to to have checked out before I tried to fire it. These were apparently both my grandfathers and were given to me by one of my aunts many years ago and I’m just getting around to having them checked out now. I really hope I can get the other one the favorite up and running because I think it would be really fun to shoot. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you
