Steve-O, you are such an admirable man. So smart and hard working. Very inspirational to a young, beginning window cleaner like myself. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and knowledge because it is teaching me so much I didn't currently know. Thanks man, God bless you.

I know this is an old video but could you help a guy just starting to add windows to his cleaning business. 30 years ago I whizzed with a plain old 12" Ettore and a cheap mop with military housing that requires me to literally strip window and casing clean with double and storms taken apart too. Now in doing very wealthy clients very cheaply I need to get my old body to clean windows without slopping water or cleaners, care with fine wood casings and you know the drill. I actually have two days to get a Squeegee for a 15 story Chicago balcony with floor to ceiling windows. 4' wide, 9 tall and 20 of them both sides. And... 40' of mirrored wall in the master bedroom. Please help me Steve! Hard water stains and oily fingerprints too. Did I mention I'm 60 and everything hurts after leaving cleaning for 30 years to be a stone mason. Yep. Thanks, I love your videos too!

Better to buy long channels and rubber blades and cut them down. For brass a couple of 22s will get many sizes. I suggest using 18,12, and 6" main channels, then an Ettore 36 blade can be cut without much waste.
@mdefiel5 жыл бұрын
I use the Ettore Super System handle on my main squeegee for storefronts. It’s an 18” brass Ettore channel. Is your favorite pulex handle also 30 degrees? Does the pulex handle perform better on the pole? Did some research. Detroit Sponge said The Pulex Swivel Handle is a swiveling handle in an economical package that gives great results. Window cleaners agree that the angle this handle holds is unique and very effective!

@@SteveOthewindowcleaner I use section ladders on every tall ladder job. When you stack 6 sections, by the time you get to the top, the ladder is almost parallel to the wall. Makes working a tad slower. If there's anything more than a 8mph wind, there's the pucker factor too.💨 😬💩👖

Nice vid SteveO! I use a similar kit, but trimmed down a bit (12" and 18" brass w/ various handles). For storefront pole work, I use a Sorbo QS 24, and for swivel, I put an Unger S-channel on a 14" Moerman excelerator handle with the rubber cut flush with the metal (so it doesn't bunch when I touch the frames). Light, and the teeth of the Excelerator pop into the slots of the S-channel perfectly and don't need to be filed down. I tried the 18" superchannel that Luke & Reanna use, but it's weird and finicky. How do you like the Pulex Alumax 18" compared to the Superchannel, and Sorbo as storefront hand tools?

Cool. You definitely stock a lot of different tools. Do you use a sponge a scraper or a chamois ever? Those are part of my everyday work. I used to use the ettore rubbers, but they didn't really glide too well and after noticing faint shadows of rubber film on the dry areas of the glass when it's hot, I decided to try Pulex rubbers. Glad I did. They have a much better glide and don't leave any noticeable film on hot dry glass.

@@SunshinewindowsAu thanks. I've found the same thing about how easily they nick. I haven't used an ettore rubber since the late 90's, so maybe they've changed. I'm willing to give them another go. I do a lot of residential and I love to work in the sun (especially on construction clean ups), because you can see every detail. If the ettore rubber still leaves that faint gray film on a hot overlapping edge, I just can't sacrifice my quality, since that's how i've established my business since 95. I remember the ettore rubbers wore out a lot quicker though. If they've changed their formula, it's worth trying out again

I’ve been cleaning windows professionally for like 15 years, I own a very successful window cleaning company that has over 500 great reviews and recommendations and u no what we use 4 squeegee blades one mop and my company by far is way better, I’m not gonna share my secrets, but this guy has way too much stuff u don’t need all that equipment, and my company and the money it brings in,along with its reputation is living proof....
@SteveOthewindowcleaner5 жыл бұрын
Bernie Cubbison well your proof that some window cleaners have way to big of an ego and think because they’ve made one money one way that there isn’t another way to do it. Yes, you don’t need all the tools I have, shoot for two years all I used was a 10” mop and a 6” squeegee and a 12” squeegee when doing homes because I didn’t know any better. But having a great assortment of tools makes the job easier. To say your company is better...has no validity and proves your arrogance. Do you know our bottom line numbers to be able to make a statement like that? No you don’t. I’ve seen huge companies that look huge on the outside be an absolute disgrace in reality and not paying there employees correctly, now am I saying this about you? No! Because to make that statement I would need to know facts. For a man that has 500 reviews and a great reputation and to make a statement like that doesn’t seem like a person that I would ever align with!
