Corey talking about how an artist can forget something on stage hit hard with me. I felt that once and he's right. It's definitely a moment. It was Linkin Park live in Cape Town. Chester was singing the wrong lyrics for Points of Authority and I know every word. So when Chester was saying the wrong lyrics I was questioning myself but still went with it. Come to the end of the song, Chester laughed and said he forgot the words and Mike laughed with Chester about it... that moment I realised I witnessed my favourite band on earth mess up and laugh it off and it's a memory I hold dear.

@@KaiSyversen the first 3 sure are entertaining reads/listens, but I've never read/heard his America 51 book. Is it any good? Listen, when Corey talked about relating more to midnight now, than when he wrote it in 2000, that hit me in a special way. I wrote a song recently, that I connect to more after my first psychedelic experience. It's such an honest emotional deep dive into my life after a difficult breakup, that it feels more like a song I would have written after that psychedelic experience, rather than several days before. Part of that experience was a new perception of time, maybe not being entirely linear, so it's interesting to me that such a deep dive happened in my writing so close before having a trip, where I experienced falling through space and time.

58:42 This is one of the reasons that I love Slipknot (Especially the newer stuff) and bands like Avatar. You can listen to an album and feel a distinct difference between each song. Even the beginning of an album, compared to the end. AVATAR'S "Welcome To Avatar Country" is just f***ing killer. in Slipknot's case, to start an album with Adderall, is just a great kick in the face.

Thanks, guys. I've seen a lot of interviews with CT; this is by far the most endearing and I didn't think I could love the man more. Proven wrong. He's not just one of the most prolific musicians ever but just over all an inspiring human being.

26:08 Corey has no self-awareness talking about Metallica losing a founding member bass player and mistreating another member because of it. When founding member of slipknot Joey Jordison was kicked out his band by email. 3 yrs after their bassist died...

I completely understand Corey's take on Tool. They're my all time favorite band, but they're so dialed in that you know what you're in for and it's almost like just sitting back and appreciating. I saw them a couple weeks before system of a down in the same venue, and the energy for system was so much higher.

I 100% share Corey's sentiments about back-up and click tracks. Live music needs to be just that: Alive. And I think it's sad how many bands AND audience members nowadays want a live show to be nothing more than a 1:1 recreation of the album track and to have it be as "perfect" as possible, even if it means being chained to a click the whole time and having half the stuff you hear not even be performed live.

Slipknot isn't for me, and that's okay. But Corey Taylor is awesome in every way. I saw a video of him jamming Van Halen songs with Michael Anthony and John 5. His interpretation of Roth's vocals is just about my favorite thing on earth.

This one really helped me realize how much forgiving I need to do. When Corey started talking about his wife and how his previous marriage fell apart that struck a chord with me because I have had some toxic relationships in the past. And one in particular ended on a really sour note. Because I found out, a few weeks after my ex and I broke up, at my best friends wedding that one of the other groomsmen had been dating my ex. Someone I knew since I was 13, and I harbored a lot of hatred for both of them. Yeah dude!!!

So disappointing to hear from him about Russia… Especially when he talks about 1991, he even doesn’t realise what he’s talking about and what kind of insane time was in Russia and also did not mention Pantera. But any way as he said I did play Moscow many times but not anymore…At least he could’ve said sorry for every Russian fan, we love you all…

I saw Metallica 17 times from 1986-1992. After that, they'd been dead to me for how poorly they treated Jason Newsted & 3 decades of horrible music. Also the fact that they never took Flotsam and Jetsam out on tour. Newsted tried to make it happen, but the insecure egos in the band (James & Lars) wouldn't allow it. They truly wasted Newsted's talents while he was in the band. He wrote every song on Flotsam's 1st masterpiece (Doomsday for the Deceiver), and he co-wrote 3 songs on Flotsam's 2nd masterpiece (No Place for Disgrace), even though he wasn't in the band at the time. Those 3 songs were started by Newsted, but they didn't make it on the 1st album, so the rest of the band finished the songs for the 2nd album. James & Lars only allowed Newsted to co-write 3 songs the entire time he was in Metallica. That's the real reason why he left.
