Going into Advanced Setup, updating the firmware, noticing the lack of RDS on the FM band, and fooling around with Bluetooth again. It turns out my new camera stops recording when the file hits 4 gigs. booo, old fat32 file system!

Hi there, good overview, does this amplifier have the ability to stream music and sound from the pc directly over USB?

No, I would use an optical output for that if the computer supports it. An RCA to stereo jack cable would also work but maybe a bit fidly. USB usually has a host computer and a device such as file storage. You will not see a way of connecting two hosts via USB. That was one of the problems that killed off the Blackberry Tablet should you remember it.

Another option would be to spend a few dollars on ebay and buy a Bluetooth USB adapter to stream music to the receiver if your computer doesn't have it built in. I have not tried this but one would think it's doable.

@@SteveRivett Thanks for the replies, I have found that the Yamaha A-S801 does have the ability to stream the sound over USB, but it is an amp no DAB and no bluetooth. Only if the R-N series had this ability. Oh well.

@@ADP3000 What kind of cable do you use to do that? I am prepared to experiment but this receiver only has a regular USB jack on the front. I've never heard of such a feature.

@@SteveRivett you use a normal usb cable, but what is important is the USB DAC that the computer connects to. I was basically looking for a receiver that has a USB PC DAC built into it. Have you tested the ability of exploring music from UBS through smartphone app? Is it possible?

The tracks on the flash drive are rewound, if so, what is the quality of the track !?

They are FLAC so the quality is excellent. I have not had a chance to connect the receiver to a good pair of speakers yet so I can't say I've tested it thoroughly. I mainly use it to listen to the radio.

I never received Support from Yamaha, even having 3 Yamaha r-n602 and 2 Yamaha r-n803. Never. What I want to know if I cannot use Music Cast or any apps with Alexa, Spotfy etc. What I want is only the Receiver, because I want to use only bass, treble, loudness control, 4 speakers 8 ohm (as I use my Yamaha R-S700), with a connection to a Marantz cd6006 and a DVD player, and using my JBL Tower Speakers 240 Ti or my JBL s-312 (4 speakers always into 8 ohms). I would like to use my Yamahas Receivers r-n602 and r-n803 the same way I use my 2 Yamahas R-S700. Only bass, treble, Loudness Control with my Marantz cd6006 and a DVD player. How I said earlier, using 4 speakers into 8 ohms as ever since 1974. Nothing to do with AM, FM, Music Cast, Spotfy, streaming etc. I love old Stereo Receivers and nothing "modern", only bass, treble, loudness control, connection with cd-player and dvd player and connection for 4 Tower Speakers, as I'm used since 1974. Is it possible? In one another site, someone says that if I send a letter for Yamaha (which is impossible, because I tried it for 10 times) I'll go from 80 x 80 rms into 8 ohms to 115 watts rms into 8 ohms. No answer from 4 months at all. May you suggest what I have to do, please?

The 115 watt rating has more noise than the 80 watt rating, I would say you just need to turn up the volume higher to reach 115 watts. You should probably exchange your receivers for more powerful A-S series receivers if you are not happy with them. I also have an A-S801 and even with it I can only drive two mid-sized speakers because I have them bi-amped to reach the required watts.
